FOIA Officer and Privacy Officer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Federal Information and Records Managers Council : One Thread

Hello to all,

I'd like to know which agencies have the FOIA Officer and the Privacy Act Officer responsibilities assigned to the same person or to the same organizational unit (that is reporting up within the same group).

Thanks,

At the Federal Reserve Board, responsibilities for Privacy Act and FOIA requests are in the Office of the Secretary. The Secretary authorizes the release of information by delegated authority from the Board.

At the Bureau of Land Management the Bureawide FOIA and Privacy Act policy person is part of the staff of the IRM Policy and Records Team. The Policy staff conssist of FOIA/PA, Records, IT Security, and Data staff mebers with nationwide policy and guidance rersponsibilities.

The records side of the IRM Policy and Records Team consists of the Washington Area Operational staff for records, security and FOIA/Privacy. The IRM policy and records team is under the CIO.

There is a similar structure throughout the state offices.
