The reason I can laugh at what I put up is because I see it as Us against them. I am fully behind the allies and I see the people in that sketch as being the enemy. And yes I will laugh at ridicule of them. I am sure that a lot of people think the same way. Who's side are you on?

http://www.stileproject.com/taliban2.html And here is part 2.And no,I do not give a shit what you think.More power to the allies as far as I am concerned.Cue the "Im scared to look non pc "brigade to post mild abuse. They see us ,the brits,as the infidel(?) That makes us their enemy so therefore I back everything anti-taliban.This does not make me racist (thats what i expect to be called)and it does not make me a bad person. If they hand over binladen it will stop. Now supporting Sunderland ,that may make me a bad person........

I think we're all with the allies Sewpa. That's not really the issue is it?

Just look up and a little bit to the left Soops. You'll perhaps see the point you're missing.

The point is SK, that you went on a thread on here a month ago severely criticising some politically incorrect postings. Now you yourself are posting politically incorrect postings yourself - a fact you admit by the title you gave your new thread. You cannot say that it is wrong to make sick jokes about Americans but perfectly alright to post the stuff you have. This is not to do with whose side you are on either so don't give me that rubbish.

I'm on the side that dislikes hypocrisy.

I don't think the "mildy PC" tag (ooh cutting) will stick - personally I found the original posting about killing the Afghans in Battersea Dog's Home about three times as funny as these crappy cartoons. Sooner or later, we all use humour to relieve stress - the worse the situation the blacker the humour.

If on the other hand you want to dissect it, the situation in Afghanistan now is absolutely as funny as a hole in the head for the people facing the worst humanitarian disaster on record. Most of these people are not Taliban supporters. Either it's ok to use humour in both situations, or in neither.

And I don't go around asking people if they are really human beings either.

Show me the actual figures of civilian casualities in Afganistan and see if they measure up to New York. I take it you will be writing a letter to the BBC after last nights have i got news for you. They ridiculed Afganistan and that misunderstood man,Osama Bin-Laden.

No you are the one that writes in protest at humourous takes, SK, not me. No doubt if I'd seen the programme I would have found it amusing, I nearly always do.

I'm the one that doesn't like hypocrisy, remember? Humour is fine by me, but you seem to think it's only ok if directed against certain targets. You tell me why it's unacceptable to laugh in the aftermath of one lot of deaths, but not when some others are dying. Or is it to do with your apparent ability to define some of us as human and others not?

As far as the scale of casualties is concerned, the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) currently estimates that 7.5million Afghans are at serious risk from famine. The bombing is stopping all aid efforts that had been mounted. Deaths could well run into hundreds of thousands. We'll see, when it's over. They are all human as far as I'm concerned.

..... can't we just agree on one thing gang - it's a friggin almighty mess!

-- Anonymous, October 20, 2001

It's mildy amusing, although there are loads of anti-Bin Liner cartoons and games around.

http://www.newgrounds.com/collections/osama.html is a page full of them.

I agree that it is a bit dodgy having a rack of porn on the top of the page (although you'd have to have great eyes to be able to pick anything out)

..... and those that are trying will almost certainly be well on their way to blindness anyway!

;o{)

Of course it's a friggin almighty mess. Sometimes things are such a friggin almighty mess that you just have to laugh. Fine by me. Not apparently fine with Mr SK, who came over all sanctimonious in the posting of his that I reproduced earlier dated September 18. In fact, SK was downright unpleasant, much more so than I have been. Unfortunately he can't or won't follow some fairly simple logic, so continues to miss the friggin point.

Geordie, they are at war with US.You and me included.Double standards maybe but is the saying not"all's fair in love and war?" If you see a dig at Sunderland you would probably laugh? If the same dig was applied to Newcastle would you still laugh? As far as I could see the animations that I put up were all aimed at the taliban and Bin Laden. Not the general public of Afganistan. The allies response is aimed at these as well. Now tell me,which military base is situated in downtown Manhattan? I do not mean to be offensive but I cannot understand your stance as much as you cannot understand mine.Never the twain..........

Likening Bin Laden and the USA to Sunderland and Newcastle (or is it the other way round to you??) is just weird. Funnily enough I have never taken offence at your writings on either team/club/supporters, because at the end of the day, it's just football. Besides, we could do with a bit of provocation on here from time to time. Please don't try to suggest that we disagree because of our footballing loyalties - nothing could be further from the truth.

The very first posting that you took umbrage over was if anything directed at the Irish, some of whom - a very few - have as little time for you and me as the Taliban do. It certainly was not directed at the US, Americans, or victims of terrorism. I thought your response was way over the top at the time, and frankly I suspect that so do you now.

Just to avoid any doubt, the only thing I have against the cartoons you put up the links to is that they are not very good. Laughing at Bin Laden, just as we used to laugh at Hitler, is absolutely fine by me. And you are jumping to the wrong conclusion entirely about what I think of the military action in Afghanistan - you can't see past your prejudice that I must be a woolly-minded liberal. I ain't.

To you SK, Downtown Manhattan is the home of the general public. To Bin Lid and his mates it's the the home of the capitalist imperialist devil. Just depends which way you look at it. And I still agree with Geordie that you are a hypocrite if you find one act of war appalling and another funny. I can't understand why you can't understand that!

-- Anonymous, October 20, 2001

Jacko, one act of war is appalling because it was against us.The other is against our enemy.Surely you can see that.I see it as being all or nothing in a war situation. Putting it quite simply people take sides. In football, politics, religion and so on.Laughing at misfortune for your opposition is human nature. And yes I relise that the word misfortune is not the correct word to use when refering to bombing.

-- Anonymous, October 21, 2001

Define "us". Are we simply an American puppet in your eyes SK? Or did you see 11 September as an act of war against the "free world" - if the latter, why have we got military dictatorships on our side like Pakistan?

-- Anonymous, October 21, 2001

RIGHT, we are not going to see eye to eye on this are we!? Lets just forget it. but ,you know my side...........................
