Funny feeling

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I had a funny feeling on the way to Bolton last weekend that we were going to stuff them. I now have a very unfunny feeling that we're going to get turned over on Sunday.

Discuss.

No point asking me cos I always think we're gonna get beaten :)) however what I will say is that I think Everton is the harder of these 2 games....they were unlucky not to put a hatful away against Ipswich last week and they stuffed Wham the week before (doesn't everyone apart from us!)....Spurs are looking good going forward but are suspect in the middle and at the back....

I know for certain that Sir Les will score... and Teddy S .. and of course the "forgotten man" Rebrov will come off the bench to score... :-(((

....not to mention Poyet. :-(

Thanks for that Screach :-((

looks like we have to score 5 then

Oh ye of little faith. It is a well known fact, at least it is in my house, that if I watch the Toon on SKY we get stuffed. So I'm travelling up to watch the game live at St James's. Haven't seen us lose live for donkeys ages (I couldn't make the Liverpool match, but of course watched it on SKY, and we all know what happened there.) 3-2 predicted.

Cheers for the encouraging response - the idea was that you were supposed to convince me my funny feeling was an absurd, non-sensical sham, and that we were sure to win.

BTW, whats's the weather forecast for Newcastle on Sunday? Still mild here in London, so I suppose I can expect driving sleet and sub-zero temperatures as soon as I pass the A1 Darlington turn off. I'm a bit precious after all my time down here, and unlike the short sleeved nutters that inhabitat the Big Market and St James's, I might need to bring my thermals.

This us normally a nailed-on certain win for us so I'll go for us getting beaten 2-1. That would be soooooo like us. Also, it's just like us to be without a really good right back when Ziege's on the form of his life. Plus, it's flag day. It's probably one of our key games because they, like us and Villa, are after that 6th slot. So they'll win.

It's been mild here for the last couple of weeks - even at KP! Foggy at the moment tho - if I was sat in the Leazes right now I wouldn't be able to see the Gallowgate! Will we see you in the Strawbeery pre/post match mystery man?

All the pre-season gloom has lifted from me for some reason (2 actually, Robert and Bellamy - best 16mil we've ever spent) and I am looking forward to Sunday like a dog who's grown a second dangler. These twats were like rabbits in headlights last season when we turned them over despite putting on a display of astounding ineptitude. Hoddle is a total spanner and they were mincing around with 8 points from 8 games or something equally pathetic last week. No excuses: nothing we say, wear, write or think makes the slightest difference - it's all down to the Lads and their morale should be sky-high at the moment. We're going to poss them.

Yoh Softie!

What a bunch of negative sheisters - I thought i was supposed to be the pessimist?

Dave - your funny feeling was an absurd, non-sensical sham, and we're sure to win. There - feel better?

I'm with Softie - we'll poss'em!!

DSS you need to move back to civilization for a while, you're turning into a Londoner.

"I get a funny feeling inside of me"

We're more likely to play possum, Clarky. :-))

The "Guv'nor" on teletext reckons a 1-1 draw. He's never been right so far this season.

Make of that what you will.

I don't see why we can't win it. Our home form has been excellent. And I've just found out that Robert IS playing. Team spirit is high. We've got a great squad. We have kept 3 clean sheets in last 4 games. We are progressing well in the WC and we are scoring loads of goals every game.

My prediction : We'll keep a clean sheet FOR SURE. (Barton aint playin)

And We will score at least one. (Bellamy)

Steph Driving up late Saturday night with the lad, back down after the match. But, could make a pre-match pint in the Strawberry, if I knew what/who I was looking for. Last time I was in there it was nearly as full as the gents at Stamford Bridge at half time. And no cracks about you'll be the bunch wearing black and white tops. Just for the record, I'm the short bald one with glasses. That should help if I poke my nose round the door. Thanks for the weather update, it started raining and turned cold here just after my last posting, so maybe I'll be acclimatised by Sunday.

Ah, I heard the CIA had updated its Most Wanted List - a motley crew and no mistake

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Dear Miss Terious - you're not Dr Bill in disguise are you? Your description sounds remarkably familiar.

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Screach, Not guilty. He's got more hair than me. Strange, but true. Other than that there is a disturbing similarity which I need to discuss with my Dad at the weekend. No offence meant Dr. Bill, but you might soon be on my Christmas card and birthday invitation lists.

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

After reading the description I think I might be mysterious!

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

No, I'm Mysterious

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Hey never mind the personal remarks! I'm not short ya bu99ers. Well, used to be 6', now down to 5'11", so I'm definitely shrinking. Hope I get to stick around to be short...

Shit....as the afternoon has worn on I've developed a steady sense of dread and unease about this match....looking at Spur's results they were a bit unlucky against Chelsea and Man Utd but they pulled off a good win against the Mackems (ptuh!) and the points against Everton and Villa were good ones (Villa are in fine form so far this season!).....

We were shite against West Ham, Leicester and Liverpool and flattered by the scoreline against Bolton (yes I know Bellamy could've scored more!)....

I reckon we're gonna get beaten....3-1 :((

Christ Gav, are you sat there sucking happily on a lemon. When we play better than average teams (Liverpol excepted) we invariably play out of our skins. We're only crap against crap teams. So if Spurs are as good as you fear, we should score a hatful. Mind you, on the other hand...................

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Oh it's a lemon is it....I wondered what it was...

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Anyone Laurent Robert better play a blinder cos I've just forked out 60quid for a signed photo of that barry venison auction site! i'm putting a lot of faith in him being a superstar for us after my initial reservations about his parentage....him being french and all that ;))

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

It's just that they haven't won at SJP in a while, so............... But sod gut feelings - it's what happens on the day. None of us are sooth sayers now are we?

Think positive. (I'd take a draw though, cos Spurs are looking good.)

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

.....with all due respect Gav, we weren't really flattered by the score at Bolton - despite the cr@p you may have read/heard in the biased media.

IMO, Bolton did well to keep us down to four - we were the better team throughout, and created a boat-load of chances.

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

3-3 is what the score is going to be.

Dunno why, just have a feeling. I had a feeling it would be 2-0 to Bolton last Saturday as well by the way, so you may as well ignore my prediction.

One thing is certain now though, it won't be a draw. That tosser on teletext's Newcastle page predicted a 1-1 draw.
