Dodgy goals committee

Come on then, it's been nearly a week and not a peep out of the b*ggers. Alan Shearer whacks a ball towards the Champions' goal and on its way towards the net it is deflected by Wes Brown: no difference to the outcome, the keeper was already beaten yet this bunch of ar*eholes insist it is an own goal although not a single journalist thought to award it as anything other than a Shearer strike. On Saturday, however, Thierry Henry celebrated missing a completely open goal by later firing the ball straight at Stuart Ripley. The ball somehow bounced off the inside of Ripley's thigh and into the completely opposite side of the net from that which it was aimed at. Haven't heard a single word from the t*ssers.

I know very little about the Dubious Goals Committee but I can confidently assert that they are based in London. "We hate cockneys and we hate cockneys..."

It's Dubious "Goals Committee" not "Dubious Goals" Committee

Why the hell do they need a dubious goals committee anyway?

Surely a goal is a goal and that is that? Can they now disallow offside goals, as they are dubious (Kevin Phillips' second against us at the SoL two seasons ago)? Or a goal that is put in with the hand (Dwight Yorke)?

It really is getting stupid, why waste money paying people to judge who scored a goal. Shearer would claim it, Wes Brown wouldn't really want to, what's the problem there?

4-1 to Leeds against Troyes, although Leeds don't have Warren Barton in their side so it's to be expected. 2-0 to Tel Aviv against Chelsea as well, not a good night for the cockneys.

Someone has to decide who scores a goal for the purposes of record keeping, dishing out the golden boot prize etc so I've got no problem with that. My problem is that I think they made the wrong decision. As I understand it the attacking player is supposed to get the goal if it would have gone into the net without interference from another player. I think Shearer's would have gone in (possibly off the post) the bottom corner so he should be given the goal.

Hmmmmmm, ADK, I'm not convinced it would have gone in. But I'm bliddy certain it had a better chance than many they have ignored. Hard to call - but when there's a doubt, the attacker has to get the benefit.

I saw at least 3 OGs on the Man Utd telly prog Premiership on Saturday. Strangely none of them were given as such.

and all those Beckham free kicks that are going wide only for the wind to blow them back into the net should be cancelled out as they started off missing the target!

Is there a Sh*te Goals Committee? A panel deciding on which goals over the week constitute a really, really crap goal conceeded e.g either of Barthez's recent lame displays or the ball bouncing off backsides into the net.

LOL, a shite goals committee, that would be great. Steve Howey's "arse goal" against Blackburn a while ago would have to rank high in that list.
