China Night (words to song)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Back in the early 50s, there was a song that was popular in China, Japan, Korea and probably other places. My brother sent it to me when I was 14, back in 50. When I was in Korea in 58, it was still a popular song. I was wondering if anyone knows what the words of the song mean in English. For the past 50 years, I've known how to sing the words but never had a clue as to what they meant. The name of the song is "China Night" by Ho Mei Fan. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Eagle

Eagle, take a look at

www.geocities.com/Hopewell_DD681/SongSearch.htm

The song is there in both 'sacred and profane' versions, words and music!
