£7M, sounds like a fair price for him. Why arent we in for the lad??

I guess because

1. We dont have 7million 2. Bobby is happy to rely on Speed/Acuna and Lee - despite apparent comments that he is after another midfielder 3. We bought Bassedas for two thirds of that amount and he has, so far been a waste of money. But he is a 'decent lad' so we will stick with him anyway.

Needless to say we will hang around and do nowt in the most galaringly deficient area in our squad, when with a real good signing in this area, we could, just could push for a euro slot this term, and play some real god football.

Too obvious?

I really doubt we have 7 - 9 Mill to spend. I just hope BR is galvanised by Lee's transfer request. If he's not going to get a new contract then we should be buying a new MF player. We should be buying a new MF player anyway!

I think the club are genuinely interested in David Dunn though it seems unlikely BB will sell.

Batty/Bowyer/Johnson/Dacort

Speed/Lee/Acuna/Bassedas

Take any four four from those eight

didn't Acuña score 2 against them last year? pete, i reckon our midfield is holding the team back. BUT Robert, Solano and Dyer realistically make up 3/4 of our 1st choice midfield and for my money these boys are better than any of those 4 Leeds player...

am i blind?

...players...

4 players in one, wasn't that Pav?

No,

BUT I dont think any of the other 4 are strong enough to play the tough tackler with the three you mentioned.

Martin Jorgensen? Is he a missing link to fill the strong midfielder you wanted Pete? I don't think Jorgensen is the kind of the strong lad in your opinion, but we need not just strong midfield to handle the hard tackler, the pacey midfielder is likely more important. It's good if we can have both strong and pacey midfielder, that's the ideal proportion I think.

And now, about Bassedas. I wonder why Robson has left him behind these days? I remember him said once a while that we have a good signing on him (not Cordone while he's still around).

But in general, we have good midfielders in Laurent Robert/Bellamy, Speed/Acuna, Lee/Dyer, and Solano/Gavilan.

As for Bellamy as a winger, didn't he played on that left wing position in Coventry? and....hmmmm....he's quite good at my CM3 game as a left-attacking midfield...is he???

Leeds had losses of about the same dimensions as us (financially, I mean) so this little purchase may put a dent in their Dyer aspirations.

...and leave us further behind in the search for a European place which would've paid for Seth Johnson...

So we've missed the boat. Again. Brilliant.

Heard Todd on radio saying other clubs had bid for him but he only wanted to join Leeds. One of those clubs could have been us I suppose but we haven't been linked with him at all in the past.
