Scott's question

Starting a new thread for a question brought up in the member sign in:

I was wondering what do we want to do with this site? I mean will it be strictly journals/blogs or will we eventually link interesting articles or stories about Asian males in general. As far as articles go, would we still vote on them? Or require them to link back? (As if TIME.Asia would do that.)

Or is this site going to be mainly a center for journal/blogs/personal sites of people (mostly Asian males I presume) who are voted in. I'm just not sure how to describe the MNW project just yet. Right now it is a listing of Asian male sites. Is that the final goal? Or is this going to be something like an ezine for Asian male interests and concerns.

Any ideas?

I'm counting on the site's democratic nature to give it its authenticity, and a larger roster to give it its authority. As far as I know, those 2 things should be the first things anyone sees visiting the site. As long as we don't vote our authenticity away, or the authority we're trying to grow, I think we should be ok. [Revised 15 Oct]

I think it's too awkward to ask people to make friends with the portal members to submit their sites, so I've set up a hotmail account people can send to, and linked the address from the page. I will dump nominees in the current months nomination topic in the Voting folder. [Revised 19 Oct]
