Distance Learning Instructional Designer Portland State University School of Extended Studies

The School of Extended Studies at Portland State University seeks candidates for the position of Distance Learning Instructional Designer.

Position Description: The Distance Learning Instructional Designer reports to the Director of Distance Learning. The primary responsibilities of this position involve working with faculty, staff and others to design and develop high quality credit and non-credit courses and other educational programs for delivery through distance education media. This person is part of a team that provides planning, design, and technical facilitation services for distance education activities at Portland State University. This position is renewable and based on a full time, fixed term, twelve-month appointment.

Qualifications: Required: Master's degree in education or related field and experience in distance learning course development.

Preferred: Master's degree or higher in instructional technology or related field, two years of experience designing distance learning instructional materials in higher education; demonstrated knowledge of and experience with web-, live broadcasting- and video-based educational technologies.
