Oh, lord.

I hang my head in shame. Yes, I read the, brief, Whole Thing. I couldn't stop, I was mesmerized just as I am hypnotized by Jerry Springer.

I love her.

Wow, that's great. I can't wait for the movie version!

Floosie rocks. Effortlessly funny, and a welcome break from unfunny people straining so hard to be funny that they pinch a loaf and still fail.

In summary, I love Floosie.

Oh lord. I come back to this forum just to see what's up. I'll never be able to look away.

Ha, Jackie. You slayed me, just now.

Some insensitive folk have described Floosie as a "dingbat," but I think she does really well for someone with learning disabilities. Certainly better than those who go around describing other, more hit- garnering writers as "dingbat[s]".

Actually, some "insensitive folk" described Floosie as a "*dear* dingbat."

dingbat: n., a silly person. dear: adj., 1. loved and cherished, 2. highly valued.

But hey, thanks for the kind words anyway, Aceness.

Jeebus.

Hey, Dwannie! Does your dictionary have a definition for "sarcasm"?

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Funny, when I looked up the word "dingbat" on the Webster's online dictionary, I found this:

1 : a typographical symbol or ornament (as ·, ¶, or ) 2 : NITWIT, KOOK

What dictionary were you looking in, Dwan? Because the way I read it, it isn't very endearing.

You know what? I linked to Floosie's site because I like her, I've always liked her, and I was chuffed she had a journal. I've NEVER said a bad word about her on the boards here (and I challenge you to find examples of me picking on her... or ANYONE... on the boards). I DID NOT link to her to be mean or make fun of her. For you to post here and send me nasty name-calling e-mails saying otherwise is a crock... and even more insensitive than my obviously-approving description of her site in my links/post in her guestbook.

Is it really so offensive for someone to believe that Floosie's posts/site might be a spoof or send-up? Especially based on the "typos" she uses...? "jakie danaked said she licked my site"...? Intentional or not, spoof or real, it's still a funny site and her personality/persona is still likable. Is it "mean" or "bitchy" of me (or anyone) to think that?

So, to quash any stupid rumors before they start, I don't hate Floosie, I'm not out to get Floosie, I'm not making fun of Floosie's site because I think I'm "so smart".... And I linked to Gwentown because Gwen's a great writer and it's a funny site and I like it. I'm not making fun of Gwen. I don't hate Gwen. By linking to Floosie and Gwen, I'm not showing people sites to make fun of. *None* of my links are of sites to make fun of. I'm not linking their sites because I think they're "stupid" or that I'm "smarter" than them, for fuck's sake! I'm baffled that anyone would think that in the first place.

And I no longer participate actively in the Gwentown forums because, frankly, I'm really sick of this kind of crap.

I'm taking down those links, effective immediately. Boy, I sure am glad I tried to do something supportive and nice....

Thanks for that, Dwan. We were all on the edge of our seats, waiting for that epistle, and now we can start getting some sleep since you've spoken.

And I noticed that your link to Gwen's site disappeared before tonight. Not that it matters, or that you have to issue another press release or breathless statement to the internet-at-large.

You are very good at defending yourself, Dwan. Have you ever thought that maybe you were wrong in using that rude description of floosie? Maybe you should email her and apologize instead of going on the offensive with us. I'm just saying.

-- Anonymous, October 19, 2001

Oops. I didn't realize y'all already knew about the site and I didn't mean to stir up shit.

Hush... hush... shh. Everybody calm down. I didn't see Dwanollah's link, but I'm sure she meant it in the spirit she says she did. But now it's gone, anyway, so everybody... um... simmer down now. Take chill pills. I swear, everything's going to be okay.

Well, *I* didn't know about the site already, so thank you for telling us, Gwen.

Please feel free to share other, similar links in the future. Sometimes the day really tends to drag and I could use some entertainment.

Wow! I didn't know Floosie and an online journal! I think I saw it through Jackie's links.

And what an entertaining one it is! I heart Floosie!
