Kuwaiti carried info on our labs

OTTAWA -- The RCMP has confirmed that documents outlining the location of Health Canada disease control labs in Ottawa were found on a Kuwaiti man arrested recently, raising the spectre of a terrorist attack on Canadian soil.

The documents also included information about nuclear facilities in the Ottawa area, the Los Angeles Times has reported, adding U.S. agents have been briefed on the case.

The nearest nuclear facilities to Ottawa are the Atomic Energy of Canada laboratories in Chalk River, Ont., where a researcher was mysteriously fired last month after his security clearance was revoked by the RCMP.

RCMP Const. Serge Lalonde said yesterday that the national police force is investigating the possible threat to the Ottawa-area federal buildings.
