Quinn to Wolves?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Dave Jones is set to make 2 additions to the Molienux squad soon according to a report on the Nationwide League site. Neither of the players have previously been linked with a move to Wolves, but both would undoubtedly have something to offer.

The two players in question are Newcastle's left back Wayne Quinn, and Blackburn's Craig Hignett.

Quinn, who signed for Newcastle after receiving rave reports during his time with Sheffield United is said to be arriving for a fee of arounf half a million, whilst Hignett is set to join on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

Quinn would provide real competition for Lee Naylor- in one of our weaker positions, whilst Craig Hignett can play anywhere across midfield or up-front.

Dave Jones remained tight-lipped over names when quizzed about any new arrivals, but he certainly hinted that new players could be on the way when he said "There are always things on the horizon."

Wolves would certainly have the necessary funds to sign the two players and it is thought that both would be keen to join Wolves.

He doesn't look like ever making it with us, so if we can get some money for him it looks a good deal to me!

Add the cash to the 'lets buy a new midfielder' fund.

Sorry Dougal. I shouldn't have doubted your typing skills. I thought it was a typo for "..........the Nationwide League side" (ie. News of the Wolves) ;-)

He's joined us and played well about twice, not good enough for the PL.

Unfortunate for the lad, but he's better off playing first team football elsewhere.
