HOWAY THE LADS
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Morning from Western Canada, nice day here, pretty cool though, but then again, it is only quarter to eight in the morning.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Hmmm....so if we sign Reyna, then maybe all Newcastle matches will be shown in the US? Naaaaaahhhhh....US tv wouldn't even pick up all our matches if we signed Mia Hamm. ;-))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Houllier rushed to hospital with chest pains after the Leeds game?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Just heard that!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Next week's match v Spurs is on Fox Sports World *shrug*
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bolton playing 5 in midfield! How is Speed / Lee going to cope with that? And I'm talking about Bolton.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Apparently he left at h-t. Didn't know that it was for chest pains. Hope he's alright.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bolton playing 4-5-1. Going for a draw?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Damn Fox World...getting all our matches this season. Damn the tree in front of my apt preventing me from getting a satellite dish. Damndamndamn:-(
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
We're off
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
You're tv is about 30 sec ahead of the webcast Kegsy. Keep us updated when you can.HOWAY THE LADS!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
You're? Your. duh me.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Kegsy we wearing blue away strip?Mackems v ManUre has KO on Pox sports here too
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Ciara, check with your cable company, we get Fox Sports as part of our cable package now. Wahey!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Yeah it's the blue/grey effort.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
My cable provider carries FSW :-) Aren't there any nice football- friendly pubs near you with it?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I keep bugging them, but they aren't taking the hint. Actually the company I'm with now got rid of Fox World on the few systems that carried it a few weeks before I signed up with them. And I only signed up with them cause they got digital to my area, while the other company(who also have no clue) are still farting around wondering which end of the cable they're supposed to plug in to which box. *sigh*
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
But...I do now have BBC America. :-)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Yeah, we get BBC Canada too.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Only in DC, Brad. Which is an hour away. Can't really afford the gas, parking, metro expenses right now. :-(
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Hey all, just logged on ;o) Webcast keeps coming and going on me!!! Hi Alison ;o)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I do however have my eye on the third floor apt in my building. If it ever opens up, I'm grabbing it...it's balcony is wide open so I'd be able to get a dish. ;-)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
[sympathy] That sucks :-( [/sympathy]
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
10 minutes gone - Nothing's happened.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Hi David! Nice to 'see' you again. Say hi to Deena for me!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
We try a fancy freekick on the edge of the box and they almost score at our end. At least it's getting a little more exciting.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Geez! Why do we try fancy stuff when we can't even handle the simple stuff??
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bellamy had a good chance - should have scored
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
The kid seems to get lots of chances, let's hope he puts a couple away. Bellamy is going to be awesome in a year or two. He's only 21 right now isn't he?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Will do Ciara, when I get home, I am at work right now. Anyone want to buy a Volkswagen or Subaru?? ;o)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Great save by Given - Holdsworth had a one on one and Given did enough
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Hansen ? just missed a sitter
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
oooo my nerves!! We need to score!! HOWAY LADS!!!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Sounds like another end to end game...does it look as good as it sounds Kegsy?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
It's picked up in the last 5 minutes. Some of our passing has been vrey poor though
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Speed booked for following through
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Come on lads, put one in, I want an excuse to open a beer!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bellamy through and again he missed - good save by the keeper
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Free kick on the edge of the box. Well in Robert distance
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Morning/afternoon/evening everyone. It's my last day in South America today so let's hope the lads send me packing with a great result. And great performance for that matter.Anyone know our subs ?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Give it to Robert! No fancy stuff!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Dabizas just wide - poor free kick that fell for Dabizas and he stabbed it wide.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Damn. I hate when we miss so many chances.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Two mistakes in the space of 30 seconds by both teams. Could have been a goal.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I agree Ciara, I wait in trepidation for the quick through ball that puts them a goal up.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Why do I get the feeling this game only has 1 goal in it, and that goal is going to come from somebody's mistake?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Robert shot wel wide. He hasn't impressed me - good through balls but shirks tackles frequently. Doesn't seem to have much bottle.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Mackems one down!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Who's this Yeskalinen(sp?) guy, and how do we get rid of him?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Varga og. DOH!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Solano 1-0
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
yeah
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Cross from the left (Elliott maybe) Shearer odded it down and Solano prodded it home
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
SOLANOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
*whew*
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
get on, about time!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
WOOOO--HOOOOOOO!!!!! Time to open that beer!!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
ARGH!!! Bellamy across the face of goal. ARRGHH!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Thank goodness. Now we might get a draw - given the way we are missing them and our shaky defense.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
He tried to cross it in - he was on the left about 5 yards oit impossible to score from there but his cross was too close to the keeper
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I have to say reception on the Official Site webcast is perfect for me today. How is it for anyone else? We should let McBeth know if its working Okay.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Half time 1-0
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
As I said a couple of weeks back Solano should NEVER be allowed to start another away match !! ;O))Fantastic end to the half but I'm worried about Bolton's ability to take us by surprise in the 2nd - just look at what they got up to at their outward bounds training in the Lakes this week :
"Wordsworth might have wandered lonely as a cloud, but Wanderers chose a canoe race across Windermere and other activities including paintballing and a grand prix using motorised toilets."
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Surprisingly it's been working perfectly here, too. Even started the broadcast well before half-hour prior. I logged on around 915am (45min prior to ko)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
The first couple of minutes when I logged onto the webcast it was a bit in-and-out, but since the start of the game it's been perfect
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
LT, are you suggesting we should beware of them using motorized toilets in the 2nd half? I'm afraid we'll be hopeless against that kind of pace.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Sounder webcast is great.LT how are you? Good to hear from you
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Deserve to be in the lead. Bellamy has had two very good chances and we should realistically have been at least 2 up. Holdsworth is causing the defence all sorts of problems but they are coping quite well. As I said before about Robert - he plays some good passes but definitely loses focus too much. A couple of times there were 50-50 balls that he backed away from. He literally just stopped running. He needs to learn how to tackle. Hughes is doing OK but he isn't a right back. Will be disappointed if we don't get three points from this game
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Ciara - Doh! I just knew we should have signed that Czech midfielder over the summer, Ivan Dalek. He would've been the perfect counterfoil when Sam 'dodgy tash' Allardyce plays his joker with the motorised toilet substitution ...
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Nige - I'm good mate. How's the Gold/sunshine Coast working out (I always forget which) ?Kegsy - cheers for the report. Interesting about Hughes and about Bellamy's wastefulness. Thinking about what Pete said earlier in the thread, sadly it's rarely the case that someone becomes a better goalscorer with age. He'll undoubtedly become a better player but if he keeps missing the barn door at the age of 21 he's likely still to be doing it when he's 25
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
If he had Shearers finishing - he would be as good as Owen. He's lightning quick and not at all greedy - he has good vision and will pass to team mates if they are better placed. I think that if we had another fast forward or a fit Dyer he would probably score 10 goals a season but have 20 assists.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Loony, its the Sunshine Coast, going good just built a new house! I move in on Thursday, that is why I'm no longer toon bound this year, that man you where once pictured shaking hands with on the web offered me $14,000 to build a new house, couldn't pass it up.I'm entering a SBS competition win a trip to SJP! Yes unbelievable but true, SBS! Wish me luck.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Players are back oot
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Good save from Given after a 20 yard shot from Southall
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Nige - yeh I heard SBS had upped their PL coverage since I'd left. What's it like then ?As for that nice man I shook hands with, for a moment there I thought you were referring to Bobby Robson, when I met him in the UK last year outside SJP !! 14 grand's too good to pass up. Any idea how long Little Johnny Howard's offer stands for ? Maybe I should grow up and buy a unit when we get back to Sydney ...
Must be hard work. Yer knaa - buildin yersel a hoose like ??!!
;O))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
any subs on ? any needed ?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Haven't heard of any subs, but my computer crashed at HT and only just came back up a minute or so prior to second half ko
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
No - generally they are playing well. Room for improvement from every one but no one poor. Bolton are starting to get back into the game. One more goal will kill them off.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Johnnys $14k is valid until end of the yr then going down to 10k until 30 June 02 then $7 thereafter.I didn't personally build wor hoose! So hard work for the builders and a bloody lot of hard work for me paying this mortgage!!
You met YBR? Didn't know that. SBS coverage is OK don't watch it much though, crap reception at my house and I have Pox Sports too.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Hi everybody !!How's the lads doing ??
We are leading how are we playing ??
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bellamy booked for scoring - whistle had gone. Apparently there is a fire in the stands at Northampton - hope it's not another Bradford
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Gardner missed a sitter
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Nige - presumably those figs depend on who wins the next election no ?Mind, I canot see too many people applying for a seven dollar grant ??!!
;O)))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bolton keeper sent off for handling outside the box
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
They don't have a keeper on the bench
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Just realised my webcast is 3 minutes behind the action. Now what do I do? Turn off the webcast or turn off the match thread?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bellamy just wide
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Bellamy blasted wide
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
According to BBC Sudden -Subs: N'Gotty , Nolan , Ricketts , Wallace , Diawara
They're f$cked - unless of course they can sign Viny Jones pronto
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
We'll never have a better chance to get some goals on our side than this. GD could well be the difference in European places. We need to take advantage. But yes, a clean sheet helps. ;-)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Aye Sudden no keeper Trotters reserve has broken finger, Allardyce figures its only a short term injury so no need to loan anyone in!! Glad he's not wor gaffer!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Haha thats funny!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Then again, the words 'banjo' and 'barndoor' keep coming to mind!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Alright folks. I'm stuck in an internet cafe for this one coz my laptop is in the knacker's yard. What is going on? I turned on to hear us go 1-0 up. Now it's 2-0 against 10 men, no oppo keeper, webcast is working....?I feel that if I click my heels together 3 times I'll wake up listening to an intermittent broadcast of the west ham game again...
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I thought thinks like that only happend to me when I'm playing Champ Man =)))))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001

-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Just seven more and we tie Leeds for GD
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
I'M GONNA BE WHISTLING ALL THE WAY TO MADRID THIS EVENING !!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Maybe the Mackems will come back and win 4-3 ;-))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Mind you LT, should't be too smug, after all, they scored 3 against us at St James. All the Mackems have got to do now is get the Munchkin to score 4.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001

Have there been any substitutions yet?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
When are you off to Madrid, LT?
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
By my calculations we're currently level on points & goal diff. with Pool. One more and we go into 4th spot ...
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Ciara - 8 pm flight out of Lima tonight. Can't say I'm planning on spending too much time in the capital after yet another huge car bomb there yesterday but I'm really looking forward to 4 weeks in the rest of the country
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
LT, send me an email if you're coming to Barca. Swift and me could meet up with you for a pint.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
You need a new calculator - we go 4 th. 1 point clear of Liverpool
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
You are correct LT, although it'd only be 2 pts over Villa who have two games in hand
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
yipes...at least the rest of the country should be relatively peaceful. Have a good flight! Let me know if you ever hear of, or happen upon, a village called something like "Menjibar". I thought it was somewhere in the region of Jaen, but my mom swears a cousin said it was up near the border with France. I can't find it on any maps, and just curious. :-)
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
BELLAMY!!!!!!!!!! 4-0!!!!!!!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
BELLAMY!!!! 0-4!!!!!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Cheers Steve - I def. will be in touch as we are coming to Barca. Fly out of there for Dublin on Nov 10th. Depending on how things pan out we may be there a full week before - so mebbes we could catch the Villa match together if it's televised on the 3rd ?? Either way a beer or two would be excellent ...
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Shearer cross from the right and Bellamy stabbed it home from 6 yards. Distin on for Dabs

Only a couple Steve ?!I'll drop you a mail when I hit Spain mate. Looking forward to catching up with a couple more bbs-ers.

Good game ;o) see ya all...
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
That's a nice three points. Well done lads. Thanks for the company guys and girls. "See" you all next time.
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Full time 4-0. A very easy win in the end. It didn't really look in doubt at half time but when the keeper got sent off it was effectively all over., Bolton just kind of gave up and if we could have been @rsed we would have scored more. Still 4-0 away from home is 4-0. 4th in the table. Have a good w/e all. Good night and thanks for the company!
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Fan-bloody-tastic result - though obviously I can't speak about the performance sitting out here.I got me clean sheet and Ciara bumped up her goal difference. Mind, it looks as if I'll have to use that plane tonight after we settled for four !!
;O))
-- Anonymous, October 13, 2001
Beautiful result! What a way to kick off the day! Don't know what I'm going to do for the next 10hrs until the start of the LA-Chicago MLS playoff game though :-P
