Ebay Seller

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I was searching ebay and came across someone in Hong Kong selling the Nokton 50/1.5 with an opening bid of $620. Eventhough I wasn't interested in bidding on the lens, I couldn't help myself and emailed him saying how outragous the price was with a link to Cameraquest showing Stephen was selling the same lens for $450. He replied (obviously after checking the site) that he would sell the lens to me for $400. I just back to the listing and he changed the opening bid to $420. ebay link

That should of been the Ultron 35/1.7

What's your point?

His point is that the seller whether intentionally or not was trying to auction the lens for an inflated price and was kind enough to draw our attention to the matter. The fact that the seller reduced his price, has excellent feedback and is (I think) Dr Joseph Yao, a well respected member of the Leica Users Group, points to the possibility that he made a genuine mistake.

I for one appreciate watchdogs like our friend Gerry.

The seller is not Dr. Yao.

I sure wasn't the seller!
