Visoflex II LTM

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I understand that the Visoflex II came in two versions, one for LTM, the other for M mount.

If I get a M mount version, can it be converted for use on a LTM? Or are the mounting rings fixed and you have to find one made for LTM?

Thanks!

Tony

You can easily use an LTM mount Viso on an M camera using a lens adapter. You can unscrew the bayonet mount from the back of the M mount Viso II but you have to one from an LTM Viso II to replace it. In other words you would have to have a parts LTM Viso II to get the part from. Not much help I am afraid. The release arm is also different from the two versions. It would be easier just to sell your M mount one and find an LTM one.

It just is not very practical to adapt TM & M bayonet. The main reason is that the arm reaching to the shutter button is in a different position for each style of camera. I have put a bayonet adaptor on thread mount Viso II and it works, but then you have to trigger the mirror release as a totally separate operation; which is OK I suppose if you are doing studio set-ups with tripod & static objects
