Did she lose her soul?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Catholic : One Thread

I am very close to someone who is married. She has an abusive husband of many years. During an argument I understand she said she would sell her soul to get him. At the time she ment it. She was probably alittle light headed from drinking when she said it. Having been involved somewhat in legal affairs myself, I don't know if this would be considered a legal contract. I have heard of verbal contracts that can be binding. I don't know what to tell her and am not familiar with anything in the bible that could help. Any thoughts are much appreciated,

Response to Did she loose her soul?

Dee,

My thoughts would be that your friend should go to Confession if She is Catholic and talk to a Priest about it. I think it would be a wise idea for your friend to pray the Rosary!

In 1578 a woman in Anvers had given herself to the devil and had signed the contract with her own blood. Shortly afterwards she was stricken with sincere remorse and had a intense desire to make amends for this terible dead.So she sought out a kind confesor and He had her enroll in a Rosary Confraternity, and urgered her to throw herself upon the mercy of the Almighty God. She said the Rosary Frequently. In this way she was delivered from the devil by the authority of Mary and by her devotion to the Most Holy Rosary.

God Bless.
