I am mad for any type needlework-quilting, knitting, crochet, and don't leave the house without my needlework bag-in fact I have a basket of yarn sitting by the computer that I can untangle while waiting for the computer to get going (my cat loves my yarn also) and a project by the phone, in case I get put on hold. Once, during a major snowstorm my Mom called and didn't ask whether we were warm or well stocked for groceries, she said"Do you have enough yarn?"

I also love cooking and have one big garden and several mini-gardens scattered here and there-right now my focus is on Indoor gardens. I actually love anything dealing with home and family-I'm so domestic its pathetic.

My newest hobby is learning drawing-I'm working with coloured pencil and watercolors, its very relaxing. I also like to read-I read anything about needlework, but also like to curl up with a good mystery every now and then.

I love to garden, and in Texas, kept two gardens going fall and spring. I also love poultry, and have been known to get carried quite away with how many hens I would allow to brood;) I love planting fruit trees, keeping goats, and, of course, I homeschool my children, so that's a big slice of my time. I also enjoy photography, and liked to quilt back when I had the time(or was better organized?)

Gardening is my very favorite thing to do. Sometimes I even dream of it. Also, like reading, knitting, sewing and quilting. Although, I'm a pretty good cook, I really don't like it. I'd much rather grow the food and let someone else do the cooking.

This is a timely question. I used to look at most of the already mentioned things as hobbies-gardening, canning, etc., but somehting wasn't fitting together right in my mind/life. Then I realized that these things are my way of life and not hobbies. My hobbies are word games ,jigsaw puzzles and playing Scrabble.

I like word ames too, favorite is Boggle. Also enjoy jigsaw puzzles, quilting, drawing & painting, cooking, daylilies, gardening, reading and lots of other stuff. But the truth is that I enjoy my 'work'- dairy goats- so much that the hobbies pale in comparison!!

Hello! Just wanted to pop in and say how much I really like your forum, been lurking, and I love what I see!

I enjoy being home with my children, quilting, canning, baking, making soap/bath items, machine knitting, reading, and dreaming of our future homestead.

Take care!

Hello Melissa, Woodworking has always been my hobby but, as a homesteader it has become a necessity. I also build doll furniture and sell it one Ebay. Sincerely, Ernest

Horses, horses, horses, goats, goats, goats!!! I'm lucky that my "businesses" are also my favorite interests. My livestock and pets make my day. Outside of that, I like to read (mostly Christian fiction/non-fiction/Bible study, & history), cross-stitch, & various crafts (whatever strikes my interest at the moment). I like gardening but it doesn't like me. Taking care of my little granddaughter, I don't have a lot of time for anything anymore except her and the animals. My dh likes to fly (private pilot), going to airshows, wildlife photography, and some wood working. We both like camping with our horses and photographing mustangs.
