This quake is justt off the coast of California and looks to be on a or near a fault that goes eastward into CA. May be something to keep an eye on. Maggie

Tuesday October 09 03:39 PM EDT Small Quake Hits Silver Lake A magnitude-2.5 earthquake hit the Hollywood area Tuesday morning. The small quake, centered one mile north of Silver Lake, which is east of Hollywood, hit just after 10 a.m., CBS2 News reported.

There was another quake, magnitude 2.9, on this same fault Monday morning. Also on Monday, a magnitude-2.3 temblor struck at and was centered one mile northeast of Beverly Hills.

Los Angeles City Fire Department's Brian Humphrey said that there were no reports of damage or injuries, but Tuesday's quake was widely felt, according to wire reports.
