Did you talk to the MOC?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

No - I went straight from work to dinner with Chris and a client - we didn't make it home until about 10. I figured the MOC was exhausted.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Nope. Damn! She'll probably check in sometime today.

I forgot how sitting in a chair all day makes your neck hurt.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Is your monitor lined up with your eyes? That made life a lot easier on my neck.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Chris' secretary is convinced that everyone in their office has anthrax, since they're all coughing and stuffy. Never mind the fact that it's allergy season, the weather has changed dramatically, and everyone's been under a tremendous amount of stress.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

But it is scary that everytime you feel a little iffish you're going to have to think - wait, do I have the anthrax?

And why is it that with every major illness symptoms are always "flu-like"?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

See, the "flu-like" part reassures me, because really, tons of symptoms are "cold-like" - allergies, head colds, weather changes - but when you're really getting the flu and not just a cold, you KNOW you're getting the flu since you feel like you were just hit by a train. You have the aches, the chills, the sneezing, you can feel each hair follicle on your body every time it comes in cnotact wiht something - so much more than a regular cold. Flu-like symptons are definitely something you know when you have them.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

True. But that's the problem with menengitis etc. in that most people simply think they have the flu.

But that's true. With a cold or allergies you usually just feel Eh, but with you know ANTHRAX you'd probably know it. Have there been anymore reports?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I hope you don't have the Anthrax, T.

Is Berman on nights?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I hope YOU don't have the anthrax.

When someone tells you they feel like ass, all coughing and stuffy, but clearly not flu-like, is it bad to think it's kind of funny to say, "Dude. I think you have the anthrax?"

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

No, because they clearly don't.

I think Berman's run away.

Have y'all nominated for diarist?

AB - did you make the fortune cookie swag?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

The firewall here is so random. Suddenly, I'm blocked from plaintive wail. That makes no sense.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

So many question!

Yes, Shae is making my cookies for me.

No, I do not have the anthrax--and yes, I think it's funny to say that. In fact, I'm going to start saying it right now.

No, I have not nominated yet. Have you?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I haven't nominated yet.

Joh - what ever happened with the new firewall? Do youhave to enter your name/password every time you go to a site?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I've nominated, yes.

We just have to enter our password at the start of an IE session, so not everytime we go to a site, no.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I have to enter the password here everytime I open it. It's aggravating. I have cookies set, too, so I don't know what the problem is.

Who'd you nominate for best new, H? I can't even think of anybody.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I didn't, actually. I only did for ones I could think of. I did Stee for legacy, even though, I GUESS Rob could win it this time.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I just went to J Crew.com and the winter coat I've been coveting is on saaaaaaale. I never know what size to order, though. And they don't say how long they're on sale for.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Ooh, J. Crew. Good idea!

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Okay - if you go there, I'm debating between the Empire-waist coat in Cardinal and the Classic 3/4 length coat in the rose heather. Opinions?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

And, I'm completely enamored with the modern tweed pea coat. But I don'tknow if I can justify buying two coats when I already have a casual camel coat.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I vote for the classic 3/4 in rose heather. The cardinal you may get sick of.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I know, I love the modern pea coat. And I like all their camel coats. I really want a camel coat.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I want this one.

I love the pea coat, too, H. I had an olive velvet one from A&F, and Crazy Nichole took it.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I like that one, too. So many cute coats!

I keep leaning towards the empire waist coat - they had so many more colors last year, though. I also like how the v-neck is a little higher on the empire waist. I may order them both and then see which one I like the most.

Although - and H, I need your imput - my scarf might look awfully cute with the red coat. I just don't know!

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I want one of those skinny scarves from J. Crew, too.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Hey, fools.

I'm home again for a minute. Bill Lowe is doing good. He's off the vent and talking and is fine. They are about to move him to a bed on the step down unit, and then I guess they'll move him to a regular room in a day or two. I mean, I guess. I don't actually know.

I'm probably coming back tonight. His nurses and doctors assure me that he's doing great and that I can go back to ATL. I need to start work and get that going, and then I'll come back here, Friday.

I'm really tired, and I feel like I've got the Anthrax, but I'm doing a lot better.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Yay, Bill Lowe! Yay, Allison Lowe!

I'm glad y'all are all doing better. Call me tonight, fool.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Yay, Al! I'm so glad Bill Lowe's doing better. It must be because of all the *PRAYERS* and *HUGS*.

And for good news, guess who's probably coming to the ATL for New Year's? Oh, yes! Guess!

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Oh, I think I can guess. That would be a huge, huge thrill.

I am just checking in again real quick. We're about to go back up there. Tired, tired.

I just talked to the MOC. He's at work. He cheered me up.

I'll be back tonight. I may do sort of a commute for the next few days, but I'm feeling good about how Bill Lowe is doing.

Behold the Power of Cheese (TM)

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

The MOC is a mighty fine man. And I imagine that as he ages, he will only get better.

Ha.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Ha ha! Omar is rooming with us this weekend. Should be interesting!

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

The cheese jokes just really never get old.

I just ate way too many chocolate covered pretzels.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

So you, Keli and Omar? You'll have a hidden camera, right?

Too bad we didn't think up any fance MATH + 1 swag for you to pass out.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Me, Keli, Omar, and Shae.

Hey, I'm thinking of making some hashai.com magnets--maybe I could make some MATH + 1 ones, too.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Oh, who gets to sleep with Omar?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I don't know yet--he said he'd sleep on the floor, but we'll see. Heh.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Oh, maybe y'all can get a roll-out for the poor, old guy.

Anybody heard from pineapple? I hope she's found a job.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

She called Saturday night (she and I are going to have to start a drunk-dialing society, really.), and doesn't have a job yet, but is sending me a pineapple shirt so I represent for her this weekend.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Oh, and you can wear your integer shirt too! Really, you're an ambassador. Should we start calling you Madam Ambassador?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I can certainly wear my integer shirt! I shall wear it on the plane, so when I land in Chi-town, the whole place will be able to see my MATHness.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Yeah, I'm nights all week except tomorrow. Anyone still here?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

I am, for a little while. I really should go to the gym, but I have wedding stuff to do. I'm trying to find someone who will let me shanghai their laser printer to run off oh, 200 save the dates.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

T, I actually have that wedding book in an envelope, ready to go. I'll send it out tomorrow if I don't leave it at home by mistake.

Also the guest entry swag.

Not that y'all haven't heard that before.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Not that y'all haven't heard that before.

Heard what before?

Hee. Hee hee! hee hee ha ha! HAAAAH!

Hi, I'm starlight.

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Anna Beth, how psyched are you for Chicago?

-- Anonymous, October 09, 2001

Very! Very, very!

I'm making stickers and magnets right now. Man, I wish y'all were going.
