Yet again O'lordy is attempting to suck up all the best of young british players....we have to stop him! ;)) come on bobby at least make it a bidding war to drive the price up for the tossers...

I'm not too sure where he'd fit in at Leeds - in midfield they've already got Batty, Dacourt, Wilcox, Kewell, Bakke, Burns, McPhail, Bowyer and supposedly have bid for Ray Parlour. You never know, maybe the offer of virtually guaranteed first team football (and let's face it, he wouldn't have much competition for a place in the middle of our midfield) might be enough to persuade him to see the light.....

Hmm not certain that'd work....if a regular game was his only criteria then he'd be better of staying at Derby :))

Yeah but a little bit of creative salesmanship is in order...... He could come here and play in front of 50,000 every week, alongside the likes of Robert, Solano, Shearer, Dyer (eventually), Cort (hopefully) and Barton (only kidding), under a managerial legend. Or he could stay at Derby. Under Colin Todd. In division 1. Mind you, I can't imagine why he would choose us over Leeds!!

I don't believe we will go for him - because we haven't got £6mm.

Well they could have a whip round at the match....if everyone puts 20quid in then there's a million quid off the price :))

...... alternatively, Fred & Doug could donate their latest NUFC share dividends - that would contribute about £3mm, ie half the cost of a decent young m/f player who is needed to fill a massive gap in our playing squad, and perhaps avoid throwing away yet another chance of European qualification.

There again, perhaps they're simply short of a bob or two!

But don't they (or at least Fred) plan to use the div money to buy back some of the shares??? Mebbes he's been sticking it under the mattress all these years (as opposed to "sticking it on the mattress) for such an eventuality?

I saw O'Leary described as 'child catcher' by someone recently. Made me laugh. His empahsis on 'young boys' is decidely unecessary.

We MUST have some money. BR has been saying he will buy a midfielder at some point. Soon would be nice.

How about David Thompson from Coventry?

I seem to remember his name being talked about but it diminsihed. He was the only decent player in the Coventry team last season really.

...... I'm sure we do have "some money" Lynda. What I said was I doubt we have £6mm to spend.
