Response to bad day

No, he or she raises an interesting question. What he or she refers to is most likely the U.S.'s continuing support of Israel in opposition to most of the rest of the Arabic/Islamic world. Is Israel worth the price? Your comments? (And bin, Jr., please keep it civil as I own one of two delete keys on this forum.)

Old saying: Moses wandered for 40-years then decided to settle in the only place in the Middle East without oil.

Maybe the answer is to make Jerusalem like Berlin used to be (guarded by several different countries) until things straighten out.

On the other hand, maybe the answer is to be found in whatever old historical texts (i.e. Dead Sea Scrolls, the Koran, the Torah (sp?) the other books of the Bible that the Catholics recognize and other Christian denominations don't, etc.) can be found.

Israel has often been referred to as "the 51st state". I agree with supporting it for the reason that Jerusalem is a sacred place for not only Jews and Muslims but Christians as well. Somehow I don't see the Palestinians (or whatever Muslim group taking over) keeping the city open to all. I could of course be wrong, but the signs are not hopeful.

So bin jr, some religous philosphers think that Osama could be the so called anti-christ that the holy bible teaches about in the last days. What is your thoughts on this?

Freedom of speech is alive and well here and in our nation. bin jr, I am sure that we do not see eye to eye on the current stife in the mideast, but I too have questioned our involvment in the mideast. I believe that it's our dependance on oil that got us involved and keeps us there. We need to develop our alternative resources and leave the mideast to fight with each other. The technology of the combustion engine put us here, new technologies can move us on.

Isn't the Abraham of the Bible one of the Muslims greatest prophets? and doesn't the Koran teach of the birth of Jesus to the Virgin Mary? Doesn't the Torah teach many of the same things? True Islam, Judaism and Christianity have more in common than they do not. I saw Osama's televised pre-recorded statement yesterday and have a couple of things to say: Do they smoke a lot of heroin or hash over there? was he on something? sure looked and sounded like it to me. I think drug abuse gives people the feeling of grandeur that he seems to have about himself.

If the arabs were to control Jerusalem they would not allow "infidels" (christians or jews)in to it. Jews & Christians generally view Jerusalem and the temple mount as the most important religious site. In Isalm, Jerusalem only ranks 4th. But the truth is Islam wants the Jews irradicated and the country of Israel destroyed, which is why it doesn't appear on any of their maps.

As for the involvement of the USA, well we traditionally take the side of the underdog and Israel is definately the underdog in that part of the world. As they are surrounded by people who only want their complete destruction. Plus in scripture there are blessing for those that support the chosen people. And the US has been blessed whenever we have showen strong support for Israel.

Well, Americans never knew safety anyway, they just didn't know they didn't have it. Ignorance was no excuse. We kill more people with cars every year, but not all at once. I think there is entirely too much comparison of religions going on, and a whole lot of flag wavin' that needs some serious consideration. Two points from a scientific logic perspective: a. What if there is no God at all? (I'm sure a whole bunch of people will start jumping up and down saying they have 'proof' of god, but they don't have any repeatable experimental data.) b. What if the whole Sep 11 tragedy was choreographed either directly or indirectly by the 'secret government' which we all joke about, but never really want to investigate? (there would be a whole lot of embarassed 'patriots' out there waving the flag) (I don't believe this, but it isn't impossible, considering the screw-ups our 'agencies' have pulled in the recent past) I think we should just build superhighways everywhere and that gives access to our troops if needed, and lets the oppressed people get out and let off steam in the less strict countries once in a while. (wanna-be-hijacker says,"Sure, I'll kill myself if you let me go to those 'evil' topless bars in Florida and get drunk! Who WOULDN'T?")

And Bin Hidin' was paying for the trip.

As far as access to holy lands: Why? What is the big deal with a piece of desert? Just pick a different piece of desert and build a temple. Like, maybe, say, ARIZONA !!? (Or Lost WAGES (That's Las Vegas for the uninitiated).

And if Moses was so favored and all that, you would think, that while God was burying all those dinosaur bones and fossilized shark teeth, he would think ahead and put some OIL under the place where Isreal was GOING to BE. Instead of under her ENEMIES.
