Anyone else think it is TOO quiet today? I have noticed today that all of the forums/news sites are very quiet - not much happening. Just seems a little eerie to me.

Yeah, it is quiet. The forum I spend the most time at is mostly a social/fun type of board, and even it is pretty dead. 'Course, there was a lot of partying going on last night, so they may all be hungover, lol.

Everyone is at WalMart stocking up! It was unbelievable today! The parking lot was packed, no carts available, and people were lined up down aisles waiting to get checked out. No bottled water was available, and the toilet paper and paper towel aisle was completely wiped out (no pun intended)! I went to WalMart to buy some spring bulbs and bird seed but after seeing the crowd inside, I left empty handed.

Books, too. Sweetie went to Barnes & Noble and was astonished by the number of people in there. No recession for those folks! The same center contains a Wal-Mart and Best Buy plus the usual center chains--Linens & Things, Michael's, etc., and there were few parking spaces left. Perhaps some of crush is due to the fact that people stayed home the last two weekends and they're not quite so stunned and afraid now.

The announcement by the government that there was a 100% chance of the U.S. having a terrorist attack, must have hit a nerve and they are thinking oh shi*...we better stock up. We are now seeing the people on the move and when they see the shelves more and more empty of goods, it will further their concern.

Saw a small report re Wal-Mart which says their camping supplies are selling better than usual, same with water, guns. . .
