The human sight

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi, friends

Not a question.

In a couple of recent rolls I noticed that some shots shared a common subject which wasn`t the originally intended one and I suddenly realized that the non-intended subject really is a permanent interest in my photography so that it had no possibility but showing up in my photos even if not purposedly.

This sort of background interest is the human sight. More exactly, the powerful capability of the human sight to convey meanings to the observer's emotional perception.

In order to better show what I mean I brought some pictures here. The same ones which made me notice this covert though permanent interest in my photography. The one of my mother was particularly touching for me. Sure it is only natural since a strong emotional charge is involved but I still think that there is something special to photography itself that allows to communicate (I hope that is the case)what we see and feel long after the fleeting moment did pased away . . .

I got really excited with my new discovery and I'd be very happy if more examples were posted. Opinions will be appreciated of course, even if with no photos attached ;-)

Regards, friends

So indeed photography is a craft; but when you discover how much of your emotions are involbed in the prosses, things become personal.

Iván, I don´t know how often a creator turns to himself; courage is needed to see your mother in pain, I personaly haven´t done it, and I know because I have had oportunities, but weakness of fixing that painful moments has been stronger, it is easier to fix others emotionaly powerful moments, at the end they are reflex of your own feelings, I congratulate you for having the courage to photograph that and thank for share this personal pictures with us, they have move me, well your mother´s picture has, I´ll try to understand the lesson, because it has been so.

thank´s for share Iván
