Come on then, spill the beans. Was it hugely entertaining watching Port Vale stick 5 past Lionel Perez last night? Could you see any reason at all why a mackem reject should have been brought in and Hislop and Srnicek left to walk on free transfers? Has he had a bleeding haircut yet? Do tell.

It was indeed very entertaining! From the first minute when the Vale Park faithful greeted him with choruses of "Gypo, Gypo" you could tell he wasn't a happy bunny. Bet he gets that wherever he goes though, which answers your question about the haircut Softie!

It was a peculiar game because all the goal action was concentrated between 38th and 58th minutes - nowt else happened! I blamed Lovely Lionel for the first one. It was a header which he appeared to think was going wide but wasn't! The second, 28 seconds after the break (I had the stop watch running on me phone!!) was a peach. Vale's left winger beat the offside trap, cut in from the left and curled it right footed round LP's outstretched left hand. The third was a regulation far post header from a corner. The fourth was a shot across him which he had little chance with to be fair. The last one was really funny though. Vale's 19 year old striker Killen (on loan from Man city - 4 goals in 3 games) chased a long ball together with a Cambridge defender and the out-rushing Perez. There was an almighty mix up, looked like Killen had missed his chance, then he picked up the ball about 20 yards out and lobbed it over everyone into an empty net. Perez had a mental with his defence - very funny.

If he is better than Hislop or Srnicek then I'm a bleedin' Dutchman. He has let in 9 goals in his two visits to Vale Park in 2001. He's pants!

To think we were hiding such genius at Kingston Park! At least Cambridge are taking him around the country to provide entertainment to the rest of the country. Look out Barthez.
