Computer Keyboard Dirty? First, unplug it and turn upside down. Tap it gently to remove any loose dirt or crumbs, etc. Then wipe with a lint-free cloth. Do not spray anything wet on it. And if you do have an accidental spill, take it to a service shop ASAP.

Trouble Upstream

When the lights go out or a receptacle stops working, the first thing to check is the breaker or fuse for the circuit in question. If the breaker is not tripped but things are still not working, there may be a logical explanation other than a loose wire somewhere. If other receptacles are not working, look around for a GFCI receptacle that needs to be reset.

A GFCI receptacle can be installed as the first one in a circuit and all other receptacles "downstream" from it will be protected by it and shut off if it trips. As a precaution, don't plug refrigerators or freezers into or downstream from a GFCI.
