Oh y'all, it's 5 a.m. Any chance of me going back to sleep is not good.

Aw, poor H. I woke up earlier than I wanted to, too. Not 5 am, but earlier.

What y'all doing this weekend?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Joh - more details on the fire! Was it your building? Is your stuff all sooty? Will your complex/renters insurance pay for a hotel for this weekend until the smell goes away?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Holy crap, H. That's awful.

This weekend, my people, I meet the parents. Tonight, actually.

So, all day today will be the scrambling and sweeping and mopping and laundry. I need to go to the grocery store at some point, but I ain't got no dollahs.

I was going to make red beans and rice for the girls tonight (thankfully, only four of them are coming) but I didn't have any Camellia beans, and I shudder to imagine red beans made wiht some other, crappy brand of red beans. So, I think I'm making lasagna after work. That way, when the girls get to the house at ten, they'll have something to eat.

Allison, I cannot WAIT to hear about this weekend.

Such a slow MATH day!

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Gah! The IT guy already--only my second day here, y'all--just asked me, "So...what's this annachao.com all about?" My face turn very red, I say, "Nothing. You no worry about."

Now I have to go change all my meta tags so I won't get indexed.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Was he implying that he was on to you?

I think I may do some self-googling this afternoon to make sure that I can't be pulled up through my email address on MATH+1.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

I know, T, I was thinking about that, because a search of annachao brings up +1. What the hell e-mail address to use, though? Maybe anchao@home.com? What do y'all think?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Yeah, AB use that one. Not so incriminating.

See, thank heavens for the Lippincott publishing company, because when I put in "Teri Lippincott" it's all medical books, and "Theresa Lippincott" is all medical books - except this odd, odd page - check it out: http://www.tiac.net/users/cri/castile.html - but "terilippincott" is all MATH+1. I need to fix that, but how? I have a totally random email address that I used for diary-l, but will that change all the other MATH+1 postings?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

I guess I could just use the tgoestotown@diaryland.com email address - but I think that goes right into my hotmail bulk folder, which I never check. Maybe I'll do a tgoestotown@yahoo.com address.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

No, but the next time google spiders our forum, it will probably look for new versions of the page, and then maybe the old addresses won't be on there. Either that or go through and edit all your posts. Feh.

I'm putting a meta tag on my journal for search engines not to index or cache anything.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Resetting my cookie.

That sounds dirty, doesn't it?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Can I do that for tgoestotown, even though it's passworded? What would the html be?

My MATH+1 googles are random - the Mexican restaurant thread, and the Time and a Place thread.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

I'm sure you can. There's a page on google that gives all the meta tag stuff. Hold on, I'll find it.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Okay, here it is:

Aha. Thanks!

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

I am suddenly so tired. I can barely keep my eyes open. Ugh.

Eeeeek! The Huff's called at noon! They're on the way!

His mom sounds SO SWEET. She has this Jersey accent, kind of, which is hilarious to me. Chris will have to translate between us.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Where are they driving from, again? What's the ETA?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Well, they couldn't leave early like they wanted because Mr. Huff had to go to the doctor because he found out the other day that he has a herniated disc... so this morning he had to go have a needle stuck in his back (!!) and now they're driving 8 hours up here.

The MOC is actually excited about it.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

It's always good when a man is excited about seeing his parents.

Did I tell y'all that Edna and Gene have NEVER been to Atlanta, not even in the five years their sone has lived here? I think that's a little odd.

Lucinda interview on World Cafe...

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Uh huh. I'd like to hear that...except that my speakers are ASS.

Not that I have time, anyway... you know... what with the Huffs on their way and everything! AGHHHAHGAHGFAJFJHGAFDF!

Oh my GOD, I forgot to tell y'all something hilarious.

It was so surreal, I totally forgot it until just now.

Last night, I was interviewd for Danish radio.

Yes.

This guy called me and Pam because we were the winners of the first online karaoke contest. Can you BELIEVE that? I really, really thought it was a joke and was laughing so hard at the guy, thinking Pam was trying to trick me.

Then Chris, who was in the room, goes "Wait! I forgot to tell you that Pam called and said Denmark was going to call you about the karaoke thing! That's actually Denmark!"

The poor guy on the phone was like "Allizon? Yes, this is really Denmark calling? You are the karaoke master!"

He tried to make me sing with him, but I refused. Told him I was retired.

I am not making this up - I'll let you know when it airs. We can listen to it on the web.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Oh my - that is to much, Allison. Did you fill him in on the second contest that was, alas, so rife with cheaters?

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

I did. He was SO into the karaoke. Crazy Denmark guy. He was like "And what do you think is the future of online karoke?"

I swear to God, I thought it was Pam or J.Co or somebody playing a joke. When the MOC answered the phone, he thought it was a joke, too, and he made fun of the guy. He was like "Oh, yez. Zis is the Allizon Lowe residence! 'old on, pleez."

He was very embarrassed when he realized what was going on.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

That is too funny. Poor Danish man. I bet he only wanted to be your Danish Inspiration. If only we had an Ikea in Atlanta where you could atone.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

MATH+1 is sloooooooooooooow today.

-- Anonymous, October 05, 2001

Have good weekends, kiddos! I'm going home to hang with Chao Famiry and Bayles/Biersmith couple.
