MSNBC Fonda: No time for religion

It looks like the ever-morphing Jane Fonda has ditched her latest incarnation.

Jane Fonda made headlines not long ago when it was revealed that she had become a born-again Christian. But a source who knows the former actress says she seems to have lost interest in her new-found faith. The source says that she “usually can’t get [Fonda] to shut up” about Christianity, but when she met with Fonda recently and asked about her church activities, Fonda waived her hand dismissively and said that she “didn’t have time for all that stuff.”

Fonda has raised hackles in some quarters recently because of comments she made, prompting comparisons to her “Hanoi Jane” days during the Vietnam War. After the terrorist attacks, Fonda went on an Atlanta radio station and said, “What concerns me very much is the saber-rattling and the calls for vengeance. ” She emphasized the need to “try to understand the underlying causes of the crime.”

Fonda’s spokeswoman didn’t have a comment by press time.
