FINALLY! - I found flag pins today

I happened to be in Hancock's Fabrics, looking for ribbon and saw a whole display of these enameled pins--and only .99 each! They have a push-pin back rather than like a safety pin catch.

I finally found my favorite flag pin, obtained years ago at an estate sale, where else? :-) It's made of 14k gold, set with beautiful ruby red, white and deep sapphire blue Austrian crystals. It has an attachment on the back that enables it to be worn as a pendant, which is how I wear it usually.

I've always loved this piece, even though most everyone else thought it a tad 'kitzchy'. . .it IS gorgeous. Paid all of $1.00, too. :-)

Should have known! I've been wearing one from an estate sale (in a dollar bag of costume jewelry) but on close inspection you could see it was a paper flag stuck on a brass form. Still, it was better than nada.
