Where are we headed?

Sorry I haven't been around much but I have been getting ready for a long hard winter. I have cut 30 cords of wood last month and am going to cut a few more in the next couple of days. My sons and I will go hunting soon. We have canned and dehydrated fruits and veggies. What is everyone else doing? We have a prophecy from our oldest elder and he said that we are in for some very hard times. Blessings, David

David,

As far as stocking up, I think I have most of the essentials covered. I need to go gather more of the dead wood on my property, to use as a quick start for my insert. Other than that, I have about 3 cords of wood, which should last me at least one winter.

I for one would love to hear the prophecy of your oldest elder. I agree with him that we face very hard times, but would love to hear the words of the elders.

David, I'm mostly just finetuning my y2k preps. Would also like to hear more about the prophecy.

The prophecy begins with the noontime sky turning black as the darkest moonless night. The north wind howls and many of the the animal people perish. The people cryout especially the young ones as they die from cold and starvation. The rivers turn putrid and are undrinkable. The ones of us that have prepared fair somewhat better but it is a struggle for us to survive. The hard times last 3 years. The prophecy goes on but this is the gist of it. I take the words of our elders very seriously and am getting ready to take in and help as many people as I possibly can. Blessings, David

Well, I'm coasting on just one season's worth of wood for the moment. (It's for a room that isn't mandatory to heat in an emergency - my bedroom - so long as nat. gas doesn't fail.) Glad I at least have that much.

David, the description sounds like nuclear winter, or a major volanic eruption.

There was an intriguing research article posted on timebomb a year or so ago, hypothesizing that one of the major plague outbreaks in Europe, c.542, was precipitated by a volcanic eruption that so changed the climate of the northern hemisphere for a few years (well, something apparently did, just not altogether clear it was a volcano) that it favored the northern migration of the tropical flea most associated with plague.

David,

Thank you for giving me the prophecy. Please go here and read about a dream I had the other night. Could it mean the same thing?

David, I'm glad to see you posting again. I hope that your summer has been pleasant and productive.

I can't remember, David, what area of the country you're in. You don't have to give the specific town, but may I ask what state?

Yes, I think we're in for some hard times, too. I believe, though, at least in Ohio, that we're in more immediate danger from the affects of a recession/depression.

I freely admit that I don't have a clear picture of the future.

I'm in Washington State. I take the prophecy to mean oil fires from the middle east. Perhaps the flow of oil will be cut off and people dependent on it will freeze? I could be wrong. You dream is similar. Blessings, David

Good to see you back here, David. I've missed reading what you have to say.

Yeah! What they all said!

Thanks for the warm welcome again. My point is we had better be thinking of helping neighbors as much as possible. BTW you are all welcome to come and stay with me. :o) Blessings, David
