Visoflex adapter for Hektor 135/4.5 head

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Anybody know the proper focus helix/adapter for the 135/4.5 Hektor head? The information I have lists various combinations for Visoflex I, II, and III but I am using it on a visoflex/SLR adapter. Thanks!

Ray: According to the HOVE LEICA ACCESSORY GUIDE, 2nd Edition, page 48, you would use a ZOOAN(16495) short focus mount for the Hektor 13.5cm lens. This would be to adapt it to a Viso I and you would use an OUBIO(16466) adaptor for Viso I to Viso II or III. Another option is to use a UOOVH(16580) adapter tube with UOOYW(16590) adapter on a bellows II with your SLR adapter. The last is the combination I use. I hope this helps.

Mark, thanks. I would rather avoid the bellows setup and use the camera handheld. I have the Visoflex to Nikon adapter so I should treat it as if it was a Visoflex II? If I understand this corrently the focus helix for the Hektor 135mm was made for the Visoflex I so another tube is needed for use with the Visoflex II. Clear as mud!

I have one that I use on my Rs - it is the same as the one for the 135mm Elmar head (which is what I have). I will look into it tonight and tell you tomorrow. I also have a couple of extension tubes to allow me to go macro with the 135mm. When I use it, people always comment on it - its looks very cool in action.

Ray

My set up is:

OTZFO Focussing tube OTSRO For 4.5/135 16471J extension tube (only necessary for macro work - you don't need it for infinity focussing)

Of course I also have to use the R to M-lens adaptor

Sorry to be so slow.
