Will we all be watching West Wing tonight?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Answers

I don't know - it's not realy an episode, is it?

I have too many things to do tonight. My office is going to trivia, and I'm also trying to convince Chris to go with me to a happy hour for the Beaux Arts Ball. So we'll see.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I think it is, yes. But it's a divergence from the old storyline. I think it's a one ep thing. Not sure.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Yeah, I'll probably watch.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I don't watch the West Wing, but I'll be watching Law & Order.

Y'all, you need to start watching Buffy. That show is GOOD. Last night's premiere was craziness.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I've watched Buffy a few times and really like it, but I feel liek since I've never really watched it, I'll be out of it. You know? This is like the 5th season, right?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Yes, but it comes on every day on FX, starting from Season 1 and going in order. You can catch up!

Maybe I should start a Buffy thread on +1.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

What time on FX?

Did y'all hear about the bus crash in TN? I'm thinking (and hoping) it's just random violence and not terrorism. Scary.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

It comes on at 6 here, and the show from the day before comes on at 3.

I heard about that on the radio this morning! That's unbelievable--who slits a bus driver's throat? Crazy people.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

It sounds like it's just a random loon at this point.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Buffy is the best, yo.

But if there's anything that's better it's The West Wing. I love that show.

There was a bus crash? I'm watching "Murder, She Wrote." Sad.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Allison! It's not sad! This is the last time for a while you'll have the chance to sit on your sofa and watch cheesy reruns. Revel in it!

I think the Greyhound thing is some random crazy person. Tragic, but not terrorism.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

People. Magnum P.I. was a great show. I wish it was still on.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

we are a quiet bunch today, ain't we.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Everybody hates my Buffy topic.

I'm updating right now.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I know Slickery and Kristin are both Buffy fans. They just haven't checked in yet.

I'd respond, but alas, I do not watch.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Nor do I.

But everything's slow today on MATH+1.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Mike - when do we find out about Neil Diamond?

Have the leaves changed there? It's beautiful here.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

As soon as I stop getting slammed here ... either tonight or tomorrow morning.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

So I have both a Cliff bar and a cookie on my desk. Guess which one I ate.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Both?

What's a Cliff bar?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Ooh - Clof bars are gooooood. Especiallt the peanut butter one.

Al - Chris was Magnum for Halloween two years ago. He wore a tropical shirt, short shorts, he fluffed his hair out, and he wore a fake moustache. He still has the moustache, but he won't try it on for me. I do have photos of him with a real moustache, though - when he went to Patagonia in March 2000, he didn't shave for 14 days. When he got back, he shaved his semi-beard into a goatee, and then he decided to shave it into a moustache long enough for him to take pictures of himself. So, he has this whole roll of pictures he took of himself when he was alone in his apartment and had his moustache, looking like a child molester. Remind me to show them to y'all the enxt time you're over - they're hysterical.

AB - it's a nutrition bar. I ate the cookie. Of course.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Actually, Joh, a Clif bar has 270 calories, so you might have done better, caloric-wise, with the cookie.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Y'all, the MOC came home early from work with a stomache ache.

And a lady at the office was mean to him.

Poor C. He's taking a nap.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Did he eat too much cheese?

What happened at the office?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

AB, what is Mr. Pharmacist Rock Star's address, again? I have a question for him.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

drugsrock@hashai.com

Shae just e-mailed me with the coolest idea for swag--chocolate fortune cookies with my URL on the fortune!

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Oh my god, Mike. Captain 20. Killing me. I KNOW Chris must have watched that show as a child. Did it air in N. Virginia in the early 1970s?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Aw Mike. Keli's dissing on your childhood hero.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Oh, yeah. I grew up with it. But he didn't have the ears.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

It's that old Baltimore-Washington rivalry again. That's all. But it cracks me up?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

God. Captain 20 explains *so much*. I just emailed the picture to Chris, and I can't wait for his reaction.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Y'all check out the "Get in the closet" thread. Some wacko Pamie-lover's in there.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Hee. Just kidding. It was me. I couldn't help myself.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Neither could I...

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Hahaha, who was Sir Ratsy? T?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I was Sir Ratsy. I think I should have elaborated on my post, though. Said something about defaming Squishy's crazy-ass posters, and not Pamie. Oh well.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

HAHAAH! That was Tracy posting that question!

I think Sir Ratsy should certainly elaborate.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I KNEW it was her!

Mike, I just emailed Chris the Captain 20 picture with the question, "Did you watch this show as a child?" He replied, "Absolutely! That's Captain 20 from Channel 20 in D.C." Like that's something that goes without saying.

Now I need to convince him that he needs to be Captain 20 for Halloween.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

That would crack me up -- but would anyone there get it?

He was The Man. I don't care what Keli says.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I don't know - I'm sure there are lots of DC transplants down here. That picture - and knowing that Chris watched it regularly as a child - made my day.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Sir Ratsy makes me laugh.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Me too. Hee.

Now I can see an influx of PigFatts and Flayas, all pissed that MATH was behind Sir Ratsy. And Allison was a moderator! The horror!!!!!!!!!!

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

In an odd way, I'm hoping that PigFatt makes an appearance, if only to let us smack his fat ass down.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Whoa, Sara Astruc delurked.

But Tracy's post had nothing to do with Pam, it had to do with the creepy squishettes.

I'd say something, but really, is there anyway for me to come off diplomatic?

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I said something about the original anon post being less abotu Pam, and more about the cult of the forum.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Yeah, cause Sir Ratsy's only playing to a particular audience.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Riiiiiiight.

Where'd everyone go?

Chris can't figure out why I'm so enamored with Captain 20.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I think the Heil Pamie thing set Sarah out of lurk mode.

Who can't love Captain 20, I ask you? Everyone should be fascinated by him.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

He's sort of scary, though, Mike. I'm giving him the '70s benefit of the doubt on the 'stache.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I just discussed Captain 20 with Chris - he said that he tinks that Captain 20 came on Saturday mornings, before Kung Fu Theater. I told him that although I am now obsessed with Captain 20, he can't compete with the Popeye show from New Orleans, where the kids in the audience got to eat free fried chicken while they watched the Popeye cartoons.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

See, I vauguely recall him hosting the after-school programming. But I could be wrong. I'll check...

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Dude, H, that was ME instigating! That was also Robyn saying the thing about "Heil Pamie", and then she posted that "no one has said anything bad about her still." I took that to mean that she wanted someone to.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Oh, y'all. I'm sorry. I had to throw down. It made me look like a cultist, I guess, but rest assured I'd do it for any one of you.

I just will not let anyone even remotely bash Pam on a public forum. I thought she let her forum go down the tubes as well, and I told her that to her face and she agreed, and we all discussed it ad nauseum here, but I just don't want even the tone of gossip going on about her, specifically, in our forum.

I hope I didn't piss y'all off with that post - but I just am not interested in watching anybody cat-scratch.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Damn, Al. Just when we were finally getting a real discussion going.

No, it's fine. I don't want anybody being ugly to pamie either, but it would be interesting to hear what people have to say about it.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

A real discussion? About how much her forum sucked?

Start it back up if you want, I'm not in charge here. I just hate to see it happen. I mean, I reeeeeallly hate it.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

Don't you snap at me, Allison Lowe.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

As if I would snap at you or anybody, AB.

All I'm doing is just saying.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

I don't care either way. (That while I do think talking about pam and discussing the merits of squishy forum are very separate ideas, I can see where it's just not a good idea in general as not everyone would see them as separate. Aaaand, of course, I have to agree that any speak of Pam on any public thing that is so directly tied to me is not in anyone's best interests, specifially mine.) But Amber's post did make me laugh. Like, WE KNOW, you hung out there a lot. Next thing you'll be telling me is that Meg's a ferret lovah.

Dude, H, that was ME instigating! That was also Robyn saying the thing about "Heil Pamie", and then she posted that "no one has said anything bad about her still." I took that to mean that she wanted someone to.

Oooooh. See, I took the word "still" to mean "anyway." Like, no one has said anything bad about her anyway. Not like she was waiting for it or wanted it to happen, which could very well be the case.

-- Anonymous, October 03, 2001

But Amber's post did make me laugh.

Seriously. Like "I had the most posts there EVER!" She's such a sad weird-o girl.
