LUCIANNE - Short cuts for Wednesday

Enough Is Enough, They Are Coming to Get Our Stuff: Ever concerned about your mental health, we like to begin your day by pointing out items that will get your intellectual heart rate up. So here is the permanently wrong headed Maureen Dowd's morning column in which she asserts that the terrorists "don't want our stuff." It's tough for dead terrorists (who leave instructions as to who should wash their genitals) to admit how much they enjoyed quarts of consumed Johnny Walker Blue and innumerable lap dances at Florida Badda Bing clubs but bin Laden seems to like carting his huge family around in Land Rovers wearing mail ordering cashmere robes from London. Of course they want our "stuff" - that's what this is all about.

Red, White & B.S. Michelle Malkin is fast becoming the Y generation's journalistic Kung Fu fighter. We particularly like hers today on liberal reporters' torture on whether or not to wear our country's flag. To quote Brit Hume on the subject, "Our flag is not the symbol of the Bush administration, and Fox News is not located in Switzerland."

Warring Over The War: Check out Robert Kagan's excellent inside look at the Powell vs. Wolfowitz argument that is giving a waiting media establishment something to sink their teeth into while they wait for the big boom. Thoughtful, balanced commentary.

Don't Hit Him With Those Flowers: The consistently excellent Michael Kelly has been threatened by a "series of letters" from pacifists. Thank goodness. It gives him more reason to let them have it in a red meat column this morning. Don't miss it.

Answered Prayers: For two years we've been sending snarky E mails to Bill Kristol to do something about the look, feel and readability of the Weekly Standard website. Miracles happen and Monday these good folk launched their totally new, excellently improved and chock full of wisdom site that is a joy to behold. There is Podhoretz, hilariously skewering Bill Maher, Matt Labash on Jesse's last pathetic gasp, Lee Bockhorn on Clintoon's moaning about not having had "a defining moment" such as 9/11 (posted today) and much, much more. And, because we are never truly satisfied....they swear they will enlarge the print.
