the elephant covers his nose

Preps: Sorry for not remembering where I saw this. You can get surgical masks that filter down to .1 microns. These masks will work for filtering out biowarfare agents, and they are much cheaper. They come with different filtering capabilities, so you need to pay attention and get the ones that filter to the smallest particle possible.

You need goggles with an air-tight seal. You can pack the whole thing in a smaller package if you want to carry it around with you. Gas masks are so unsightly and un-chic. Get something more affordable that attracts less attention.

Picked up a pair of swimming goggles this weekend. The high-end Nike's are $21.99, or something like that. They're all uncomfortable, but these seemed to fit a bit better. Thought the small size would make it easier to lug them around. I plan to investigate surgical masks soon. 1 micron sounds like something that would leak around the sides. Maybe not.

Modelled the goggles and half-face gas mask (with two "wing" filters) for one of my cats. She was slightly confused, but not entirely distracted from her goal of finding some way to convince this creature to give her lots of scritches.

Use surgical tape around the sides of the surgical mask.
