Keep seeing people who are lead to prepare...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Freedom! self reliance : One Thread

Well, since the 11th I have seen all kinds of people come through my office. We get hundreds of people a week who are moving and I get a chance to talk to some of them when the Lord allows it.

Sometimes it's just a word or two, other times it is also a knowing look around the room to see fi the other customers are listening to what they say and a quick reference to the 'end times'.

Others have felt (for some unknown reason) that they should move to the country and grow a garden. Others are convinced they need to stock up.

We are right next to Ft. Lee and since a lot of the families are GI's I suppose they hear a lot that we don't. We also have a friend in the pentagon who has hinted at some things but can't come right out and say anything. He's a Christian man so I don't think he is trying to panic us.

The feeling is...stock up and be prepared. Plant the fruit trees while you can. Dig that root cellar while you have the chance. I believe the Lord is really speaking to the hearts of the people.

Joseph stocked up for 7 years for the coming 7 years. I don't believe we need to panic, but when you consider the fact that most of the people in our country live in the city and they will all be hungry...you might get and idea at the awesome job ahead of us. How many of those are Christians who will later find themselves without. Those who are called to stay right where they are until God says so.

We are all given jobs to do....some will be required to stay in the cities until such time God says to leave. So keep in mind your brothers and sisters on the front lines who will need sustenance later.

Dear Stephanie, I believe there is a stirring, in the minds of people now, whether they will amit it or not. My biggest fear is bio.warfare, I am upset that so many of our children after 1971, are not vaccinated for small pox. and they won"t have enough untill 2004. Also Antrax, Also the terriost, could even spray something on the crops, I am stocking up again, but most of us were upset when nothing happen in the y2k, thing. So have decided not to do that again. I heard on short wave, that we are in more danger now than when the y2k scare was on. I heard they have guards watching the nature gas lines comeing out of texas, that feed the whole usa. Man do I sound like dooms day. I think there is a dooms day clock somewhere, has anyone checked to see what it is set at. Lord help us all, Irene

Dear Irene,

I understand your fears and I know that a lot of people share them. I also understand your anger at having stocked up for the y2k thingy. First off, deep down in my heart, I never believed in the Y2K crisis per say. I did feel; however, that there was going to be something down the road that many would not be prepared for and God was using that time to get His children out of their complacency and to get their heads out of the sand and look around them.

The y2k crisis was a catalyst for change. It caused many to move to the country. It caused many to change the way they did things. It caused a shock wave to go through the entire world. This bombing which occurred on the 11th pretty much did the same thing. I believe God is merciful to His children. I also believe that when He can't get them to listen He takes a proverbial 2x4 and whacks them over the head!

We have been whacked!

Much of the time I have spent in the last 10 years or so has been a testing of my faith. I have been through everything imaginable. I have had people threaten to kill me because I am a Christian. I have had people try to kill me because I am a Christian.

I have literally had the gates of hell opened on me and God delivered me out of it all. Being an ex witch/satanist makes it even worse. There are those out there who hate me and have pledged to return me to my former way of life or kill me in the process.

Part of the time I discovered that there are little things in the Old Testament that most people don't take seriously as being able to apply it to their lives. For instance Elijah and his crew of men went out to collect wild plants from the woods to put into the stew pot for dinner. Unfortunately, one of them must have put something poison into the pot because a man died from it, "There's poison in the pot!"

2 Kings 4:39-41 39 And one went out into the field to gather herbs, and found a wild vine, and gathered thereof wild gourds his lap full, and came and shred them into the pot of pottage: for they knew them not.

40 So they poured out for the men to eat. And it came to pass, as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out, and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat thereof.

41 But he said, Then bring meal. And he cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot. KJV

KJV

There came a time when we were so poor that we had nothing in the house but a lot of rotten hamburger. The fridge/freezer wasn't working properly and we had no money to buy a new refrigerator. I fried up the hamburger and it stank so bad that I almost gagged.

I prayed, "Lord, bless this food to our bodies and take any poison out of the pot in Jesus name." I prayed it because He had done it in the Bible. I prayed it because He gave me the faith for it. I don't believe everyone has that faith to be able to eat something that is obviously spoiled.

It smelled funny but it didn't harm us and it had a little off taste. We ate it. All that summer we had to eat spoiled meat and milk. It finally dawned on me to pray and ask God to take the aweful taste a way and He did that too!

Why am I telling you this? Because, if God can take spoiled meat and make if fit to eat I believe that if there is no means of protection from biological warefare, "after having done all the crisis demands, stand".

We are to do what we are capable of doing. Then, we are to stand in faith and believe in God.
