Not a very progressive move - however looking at Heskey and Fowler this afternoon it's perhaps no great surprise. Surely SGE won't start with those two? Watching both Shearer and Fowler this afternoon you had to wonder whether both of the top strikers in PL history are nearing the end.

I've got to say that I'm getting really concerned about next Saturday's game against Greece - game in which we simply must score a few goals.

Not quite true Clarky. Surely all we have to do is score more than Greece????? Or can Hermann catch us on GD?

You're right about Hesky and F***er. Neither looked impressive today - something I'm sure Nick the Greek has already passed on to his management. Talimg to a number of Scouser's in the pub after the game, they reckon F***er is/should be on his way out. They reckon he hasn't got the b@lls to ask for a xfer so is playing a game of poker with Gerrard H.

As for Pesky, his total lack of control when thru on goal, allowing the ball to bounce off his knee said it all for me. If it was up to me, I'd start with Andy Pandy and Teddy ;-))

Can Hermann catch us on goal difference? If they have to score them against Hyypia and co I think not!

Well, they could beat us on GD, but they'd have to score a hell of a lot against Finland - providing we beat Greece that is.

I'm sorry if I created a scare there, but I'm simply thinking we need to get a couple in the onion bag early on next week to take the pressure off.

I'd also be tempted to start with AC and Sherri Screach - but that's a big change to what has been a successful combination for us - it would be very risky considering AC's previous England form. I'm not sure SGE has too many options, but he may start with Heskey and Sherri.

For an current England international striker, I thought Heskey looked like a big soft tart this afternoon - seriously over- rated this blerk.

So we can expect Sheri and AC in your TeamPick this w/e eh, Clarky?? Actually, if SGE had been at SJP today instead of Craven Cottage (was that right, and were there any Englishmen on the pitch??) his mind could well have been made up. Tho in his defence, he could watch wor game on TV (if he's shelled out for it).

Yeah - I'm with you. Cole and Sheringham up front.

Andy Cole always plays well with some brains or tricks with the fellow striker Beardo/Yorke and now Sherri could be the very man....

Well, they could beat us on GD ??

I think if 2 teams finish level it goes on how they did against each other - we won 5-2 on aggregate = beat Greece and we qualify.

It's definitely GD first then results against other sides. A draw will be good enough for England as I can't see Germany beating Finland
