Blackout Strikes South Of BorderMillions of people living south of the border found themselves suddenly in the dark Thursday night.
About 8:30 p.m. Thursday night a power plant in Rosarito simply shut down, 10News reported. Officials told 10News that a turbine had stopped working.
As a result of the shutdown, some 2 million people in Rosarito, Tecate and Tijuana were left without power for several hours.
Power was fully restored to the area by midnight, 10News reported.
