London Hoodoo (thinking aloud)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

After last weekend's debacle I am now coming round to the idea that when we do break our jinx in London - it will be on a grand scale. My thinking is that it will either be a 4-0 or greater victory or the Toon beating Arsenal. Actually combining both of these would be pretty good as well! Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Any Positive Predictions?

these things do often end with a bang, i really don't care though, a 1-0 last minute own goal win at Charlton would do me

You may well be right, it might be with a bang, but it could be an away visit to Crystal Palace in the FA Cup that breaks the hoodoo.

this hoodoo thing is a load of rubbish. The fact of the matter is that we have lost matches at certain clubs. If we got beat of s'land middlesorough and Man.utd would everybody be calling it the red strip hoodoo? If you looked hard enough you'd find loads of these hoodoo's We haven't beaten a team where one of the players is bald for 10 yrs blah blah blah.

well someone will definitely have to explain to me how we've been so successfull at Southampton the past fifty years!!!!!

Note... now that they have a new stadium means squat, I will dread that date on the fixture list until I have reason to believe otherwise!

Hopefully Southampton will be relegated by the end of the season and we will be qualified for Europe (maybe?) so the result will mean nothing.

I also agree that it isn't a hoodoo, but there is a mental element involved now, players don't suddenly become hopeless just because they are playing south of Watford.

It's become psychological now, not helped by the media going on about it every time they mention Newcastle.
