Noone being laid off (just some attrition), but no more free lunches, limited office supplies, cakes only for the bozos who are leaving. I wondered how long it would take management to realize things were tight.

Better go hoard me some of those supplies!

Some disquieting things are happening at Sweetie's company, too. Even though they flew in ten guys to take his training, they let a contractor go today and Sweetie and another guy will have to take up the slack. One of their clients is American Airlines. . .

The first sign of trouble at his last firm was the Twining's tea was replaced by Lipton, the Snapple wasn't replaced, and the snackies went too.

Oddly, my own job suddenly increased my hours to about what I working before the attack, and they told me to talk to the schedulers about even more hours that are available.

The windfall of extra hours will go into savings in case something else happens. This near-layoff scared me, and I'll bet things are over being weird yet.

(NO ONE even wanted to interview me! Went to the other three largest employers in this area, plus someone who's had a "help wanted" sign up for years. I was on my way to the school board to continue my availability as a substitute teacher next week. There is a God...)

If the airlines are close behind, then I truly hope the security procedures are perfected.

One more incident, even a close call, and no one will fly for a long long time.

Miami is pushing people to go spend the weekends in the fancy hotels that are empty now. The Biltmore, one of if not the oldest hotel in in town is offering rooms at 169.00 a night. I guess that is a bargain? It is very Ritzy...

I heard tonight, one of the nicer hotels in Vegas is offering rooms, that went for at least $150, are now going for $50 a night and the airfares to Vegas are cheap also. They have layed off a bunch of people there.
