Cleaning my apt ahead of the impending visit of my mom next weekend. Which means I will probably be home for the webcast on Sunday, and only heading down to DC if we win. This 4hr tape delay nonsense is a pain. Think I'll also bug my cable company again about getting Foxworld so I can actually watch all these matches at home.

I had planned to have a few days golfing with Sergio, early in the week but had to change plans at the last minute. I've actually been stuck in Germany most of the week. My friend Josef, who owns a vineyard in southern Germany had a mild stroke at the weekend, It's come just at the wrong time for him as the vines are ripe for picking. I voluntered to drive one of the tractors, so here I am in Pfaffenfiler just finishing off the last few acres today.

I had a phone call last night from an old girlfrioend called Patsy, who's lover (a Scottish bloke called Ally) had left her. The poor girl was inconsolable, so I'll be driving to Strasburg later tonight and flying back to London in the early hours to see her.

After a time (or a few times anyway) I'm sure I can settle her down and persude her that life's worth living. I might take her to the match on Sunday. Waddya reckon?

Sounds like a plan, Rik. I could squeeze some time away from my cleaning to console her bloke, Ally. ;-)

He's been married for 11 years to a woman called Allison, who Patsy says has a ****** **** problem.

Allision is a makem Rik !!, non stop work lately , social life is waning, occassionally I will take a deep breath. * This remark was attributed to Robert Mitchum when asked what he did for exercise.

Not working this weekend - Josh Taxis tomorrow & bike ride with kids and friends on Sunday. Hopefully weather forecast will be correct and storms will mean spare couple of hours 2-4.

When PPV came out she said she'd rather I go to the pub - now she's going back on it. Give them a shout for me.

Friday evening spent (as it turned out) drinking in the Bonte Koe café ('Colourful Cow') with amiable, if somewhat unhinged, local- marxist called Rob + his japanese dog. Today, an anitique fair in Amsterdam with better half (suits obligatory!), tomorrow Sparta Rotterdam-Twente, whilst trying to follow the Liverpool game on the radio - a bit disorientating really. Jumping up + shouting 'YESSSSSS! just as Sparta win a throw-in attracts the funniest of looks.

Hmmm - a bit late. Friday dishing out and receiving a lot of road rage on the M1/M42 and M5 (and other incidental A roads) on Friday, Balti with my lad in Cov on Fri night and more road rage on Saturday (add M69 as well). Bit of shopping, buy a new fish for the tank some booze for me.

Tomorrow - well I guess I'll be in the Straabeery sometime after 12:00 to see "Aal the lads'n lasses theor, Aal wi' smilin' faces" and a bit of footy in the afternnon. Celebrations thereafter ;-)

Friday, fly Hong Kong to Singapore to see the 'missus', Saturday fly Singapore to Luala Lumpur to visit a 'friend', Sunday back to S'pore in time to watch the match at "Mama Africa", with a bunch of exiled Mags. Howay the Lads.

Monday (hangover expected!) I plan to buy some new nail clippers and scissors, others were confiscated at Hong Kong Airport! :-(
