We'll soon get to see how accurate Screacher's Leeds v Toon comparison was when Leeds play Troyes in the next round of the UEFA Cup. First leg is in Leeds.Other matches include:
Ipswich v Helsingborgs, Rangers v Dinamo Moscow, Hapoel Tel-Aviv v Chelsea

I don't think the Leeds fa,s will be as popular as the Toon army was.

Would you believe it's hardly rained since, and that it's a gorgeous gay today?

A gorgeous gay?

Actually, David I would believe it. I've got an unfortunate, but deserved, reputation as 'The Rainmaker' - without a word of exaggeration, I've literally turned deserts green, just by showing up.How is your lecturing 'en fancais' going?
-- Anonymous, September 28, 2001
Not too bad actually. It just takes a lot of time to write each lecture. The students seem to think it's a laugh!

As someone who has failed miserably to learn French on two separate occasions, I can't believe how gutsy you are Kiwi! For those on the outside of this conversation, we teamed up with Kiwi Toon during the Toon Army's visit to Troyes recently - KT lives there. He emigrated from NZ and decided to settle in France, which " seemed like a nice place". At that point, he didn't speak French.
Some short time later - 12-24 months - he is not only working in a French University, but actually delivering lectures in French!
Amazing, really - nice blerk too, if not too good on weather forecasting!!

It might pay to ask the students what they think of my French! And it's been raining ever since my boast yesterday!
