The reason Jesus said this is because "what you resist, persists". By resisting something, you focus a lot of thought and energy on it, you give it a whole new life.

This is not complicated stuff people, in fact it is so simple it should be obvious. If we spend a lot of time focusing on evil, we get exactly what we ask for... MORE EVIL!!
