Florida government agency puts terrorist-preparation plans on Internet

TAMPA, Florida, Sept 26 (AFP) -

Florida has become one of the first American states to post advice for citizens in case of a terrorist attack on a state government agency Internet web site.

Computer users who click onto the web site www.florida.disaster.org/bpr/emtools/severe/terrorism.htm will find advice on what to do if terrorists strike.

The site covers subjects ranging from what to pack in a family disaster kit to noting that a family should have a physical location to meet, as most family members are not together 24 hours a day.

"This (anti-terrorist) website was created as per the governor's (Jeb Bush) request," Ann Rowe, spokeswoman for the Florida Emergency Management Agency, told AFP.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency in Washington DC has posted similar precautions against terrorism on its web site.
