Ray Parlour to Leeds according to Soccernet -

I know YKD is twice the player that Ray Parlour is, but I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Leeds had another midfielder or two in their squad just in case Lee Bowyer gets what he deserves in October.

I don't think YKD would be let go. Toon wouldn't accept a bid. I'd like to think not at least... Ok maybe 25 - 30 Mil.

You may be right - but I've got serious doubts about our ability to keep someone once the player wants to go. Think back to Domi, Goma, Hamman, all of whom were under contract when they were sold. I suppose the most encouraging thing is that even without Dyer we're performing respectively well in the league which will hopefully persuade YKD that he can win things here. It's not beyond the realms of possibility that by the turn of the year we'll be in the top 6 with the fresh legs of Dyer & Cort ready to come into the side when the opportunity arises. If we are, and if Uncle Bobby can bring in one or two quality players in the meantime, we can really go places. On a more pessimistic note, the only reason our board would turn down a bid for Dyer would be if they thought it made financial sense. Footballing concerns won't come into it unless it affects the bottom line. I suspect that if they think we're going to qualify for Europe without Dyer then they'll cash in on him. I imagine there are one or two on the board who are already salivating at the prospect of a 10+ million pound profit on a player in just a couple of years.

ADK,

I don't really agree with your assessment of the Board outlook on this issue, even as the well-known Board critic/hater on here.
While we were certainly a selling club under previous regimes, there isn't a shred of evidence that is the case under Fred & Doug. Fair does to them.

The fact is, Goma, Hamman and Domi all wanted to leave.

KD hasn't said so much that he wants to leave Newcastle.
