I think it's the area where everyone has to wear big gold sovereign rings a la Eastenders...stroll on, geezah - apples and cockels, dahn ver rub-a-bone, rest me plates a'porkies, ad nauseum...

Plan here.

I sat in the Sovereign bar for the derby match. It is the section closest to the gallowgate end about half way up the milburn stand. If you want a pint at halftime make sure you pre-order as there was not enough staff on to handle the rush.Good chips though. My seat was #1 nd looking straight ahead my view was the track behind the goal at the gallowgate end.Canny view of myself scoring like.

Cheers everyone, Happy with the seat location... only need a good performance as its Wor Lass's first time at ST James and my first time since the extra tiers were put on the Milburn and Hall stands.

Ah, another "out of body experience" then Soops. Glad the memory of the chips still lingers. Shame the best you can get at the SoS these days is hash.

I have to say that the meat and tattie pies at the soL are world class as well.Never tried the chips!!Hot dogs are ok as are the burgers.Lager seems to be better on the night matches though!!!!

Well done wor Kev, `The Greasy Gourmet`, The Heartlands of Scotland await you , Fried Mars Bar oot of chippa`s ,swallowed by a bottle of Irn Bru await your approval and the esteemed `Soupa Status Symbol`,

BTW, Last Saturday Chris Robinson the Hearts chairman was up at Dingwall to watch his team play Ross County in the CIS Cup. He visited this hotel for a spot of lunch , quite a few Hearts supporters imbedded there partaking of the water of life . He is not the most popular of chairman due to being financially prudent (tight arse), his money being made in the manufacture and sale of `The meat pie`. He was attacked by his own supporters hurling chairs tables in his direction while singing "The Cattle song of the Public", ` Who ate all the pies, who ate all the pies, you fat ba£tard, you fat ba£tard etc you ken the rest. another piece of useless information wings south

The pies at St James' are a rip off. They're made by Tindale and Stanton in Burnopfield and cost around 12p. NUFC sell them on for more than a quid which is almost as bad as the price of a coke which is up to £1.50. Absoulutely disgusting.

Which leads me to

Question:- can you bring small bottles of refreshments into the ground with you? I sometimes see people with flasks, what about plastic bottles of pop?

I think nufc.com reported that being tried, like in the cola advert. Got told it was a potential missile hazard.

Throwing one of the pies wouuld do more damage than a plastic bottle. I wonder if we could get away with bringing in one of those foil packed drinks cartons?

-- Anonymous, September 28, 2001

.... I don't see why not Rik- presumably they must have a legitimate reason for denying you bringing in stuff. A foil drinks carton could hardly be classed as a potential weapon.

I also noted that the Coca- Cola had increased from £1 to £1.50 this season - only a 50% increase: no big deal to well-practised rip-off merchants like NUFC.
