It is with great regret that I have to announce that an era is about to come to an end. One of life's great institutions is about to claim another of our own. Having escaped from his beloved homeland to avoid the snare of the fairer sex (in Heaton??), he has found out that the tentacles of love take no regard for national boundaries.

Therefore, from Friday the world will be without another of its batchelors as wor own Syme gets hitched to the gorgeous Bar(barbarbarbar)bra Ann.
