To your credit, this is not your typical flamingo pose. Seems a bit cramped though; if this is already cropped, consider backing off a little. Your flatbed looks lik it isn't doing its job too well; the green bands in the upper right are from your scanner and have got to go.

John,

This is one of the most interesting photos I've seen posted here. The shapes are great and the movement in the picture is strong. I can't tell how sharp but your eye is definitly there.

I find it ironic that Christian always nit picks the scans when ALL his pics are WAY TOO DARK. I find his commentary useless. anyhow i like the picture the only thing i just think it might be stronger in black n white since it is very form oriented.-J

Thanks for the comments. I also thnk the cropping is a bit tight but will leave it as is for now. Since this shot was taken I've gotten a better scanner (Epson 1640 SU Photo) which is pretty good for my amateur needs.

"Pictures always way to dark" - probably because the pictures were generated at a different screen gamma setting to yours. I also have noticed that Photoshop LE generates 15% darker pictures, when generating image in LE the pictures look fine, but when repoened in other graphic pakages the pictures are always about 15% too dark, has anyone else noticed this problem with Photoshop LE?

Excellent piccie by the way, but seems out of focus, did you try "unsharp" mask when generating the image?

Mike,

Yes, the shot may be a bit soft in the focus dept. I was using the Canon EF 100-300 f/4-5.6 which was not sharp beyond 200mm. I've since traded it for the Canon EF 200 f/2.8, which is incredibly sharp and takes an extender nicely.
