Hungarian parliament grants use of its air space for U.S. flights against terrorist targets

BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) The Hungarian parliament voted overwhelming Monday to open the country's airspace and airfields to U.S.-led missions against terrorist targets as a result of the Sept. 11 attacks on New York and Washington.

The measure, requested by the United States, passed 212-12 in the 386-seat legislature.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban said ''we are gathered today to express our solidarity with and condolences to the people of the United States.''
