Pete I think the players are good pretty much but today it was like they were beaten before they left Newcastle. West Ham are no great shakes yet they were all over us, first to every ball, fighting for everything. Everyone except Bellamy who ran and ran, played like they couldn't be @rsed.

Should we be upset about this? Are we so used to inconsistent performances that we should be la-de-da about days like today? I'm sorry I can't ever remember feeling so sick over a totally lethargic performance. I just hope the players get a steady diet of the match video before we take the pitch on Wednesday.

I'd have had him in Solano's place for the second half. However, I haven't seen Dyer show the necessary balls to assist in a game like this. We need a Roy Keane or at least a David Batty to give the midfield a physical presence, IMO.

We played with nine men, how do you expect to win. Robert never showed as did Solano. I am not the biggest barton fan but yesterday he was the worst of the worst. The midfield was nowhere, our apparently great strikeforce was playing in a different game. Our defence.....enough said. However like I said last week, less optimisim more realism, this week less pessimisim more realism. It is but one result, the writing was all over the wall.
