"I hope you get foot and mouth"

A gem from the Consett and Stanley Advertiser tells us that a man in County Durham has been fined, bound over and banned from attending any league match in England until 2005 for shouting "I hope you get foot and mouth" at the referee. The steward who apprehended the fan who was attending a game involving his beloved Esh Winning, said that "We just can't tolerate language like that". I wonder what said steward would have made of the Toon fan at Stamford Bridge who shoutec to D'urso "You were an amateur tw*t last year. This year you're a professional tw*t"£.

Well, wishing ill health on someone is really uncalled for. Unlike the Toon fan merely calling a spade a spade. ;-))

Except for a human getting foot and mouth is like saying "I hope you get a sore throat", as it hardly has any effect on humans.
