Craig Bellamy endears himself further to Cov fans

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

I don't know what he went through at Cov but he hasn't got a good thing to say about them. Did you see him on ITV football show today. He said that Hull were a bigger club than Coventry and that they were now in their rightful place in the first division.

Oh dear, if they didn't like him then, they'll hate him now!

Personally I'm warming to him, he's got attitude.

The Coventry fans didn't exactly take to him well, some of the abuse he got there was not on. I know he didn't exactly set the world alight there, but surely if someone plays in your colours you should give them all the support you can?

Farcelino....

Marcelino has always personally got my support when he's been on the pitch. Apparently his finger was close to amputation when he had that injury, but I admit his other mysterious injuries are most likely nothing.

I have never booed a player before (on my own team)

People bang on about the right of fans to slag players off. If that is fair game, then it seems entirely reasonable for players who have been villified by a Club's fans, to have a go back at them when they have moved on to greener pastures and given the opportunity to demonstrate their real capabilities.

There's an interesting interview with CB in today's Times in which he says that he was just coming back from injury when Coventry bought him and that he had been told by surgeons that it would take a season to get properly fit and that really it is better that we didn't buy him then. He sounds quite a nice lad actually and had his first kid at 17 and his second just before joining us...

Careful how you phrase things Dougs. I'd have thought with your training, you'd be more prudent than that ;-)

Dougal, Rat boy had his first kid at something like 12 I don't think spawning sporgs at a tender age always leads to being a nice lad :-)

For 'spawning sporgs' read 'spwaning sprogs'. :-))
