Latest from Lolo: he's feeling better

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

1) How are you feeling?

I've still got a headache but I'm much better than I was on Monday when I was really flat out. We've got today off so I have used it as a chance to have a sleep in: I only got up at 1 o clock (laughs).

2) Will you play on Sunday?

I think so - my cold should have completely gone by then. I should be in the starting line-up.

3) When did you go back into training?

On Tuesday but it wasn't a pretty sight - I was just knackered. We did a session without the ball yesterday and that wasn't much better. I'm on anti-biotics so I suppose that's normal.

4) How is Distin settling in?

Really, really well. He's very happy to be with us. He played with the reserves against Middlesbrough yesterday. I didn't see him this morning so I don't know the score but I think he'll be in the squad for Sunday, if not in the starting line-up.

5) Are you spending much time with him?

He eats here every night but he speaks a bit of English and can communicate with the players and the manager.

6) Do you know much about West Ham?

Apart from that they are the team we play on Sunday, no. They are at the bottom of the PL but I think that will make them all the more determined to beat us. We really need to take at least a point from the game.

7) Stuff about French teams in CL that I can't be arsed to translate.

... and what exactly is French for "knackered"?

-- Anonymous, September 20, 2001

LOL. Since you ask, it's "epuise" (the final "e" having an acute accent) which means "exhausted" if you are talking to a teacher but "knackered" if you are talking to anyone else.

Need to take at least a point from WHAm...even Lolo is conceding we'll be lucky to get a draw. ;-)

I'm just made up that he hasn't mentioned the weather yet: it's been about -20 plus wind chill factor plus bucketloads of rain all week.

Friday morning and it's not looking good for LOLO, I think he'll be missing the hamers game along with Quinn and Hughes.

Three options could be to put Distin at left back pushing Elliot into the left side of midfield or Put Griff at left back pushing Elliot forward or to use Bernard, who showed great promise in pre season.

Swifty, it's typical Indian Ocean weather Very wet and windy.

I am talking about the monsoon season of course

Only differance is it's 13 degrees here as opposed to 30 degrees in LoLo homeland.
